One of the more emotionally affecting things of my transition was hearing of a cis woman saying it felt empowering to know that in a world like ours that so routinely hates women, there are people who actively choose to be one and find worth and value in that choice

A three frame comic of the female protagonist (femc) and Aigis from Persona 3. The first frame has femc pointing and laughing, with an angry looking Aigis. The next frame has femc turning to look at Aigis, and the final frame has femc matching Aigis’ angry expression.

Clustering Player Performance in Pokémon TCG Tournaments: A K-means Approach to Identifying Performance Groups Based on Wins, Losses, and Tournament Statistics ABSTRACTThis study applies K-means clustering to analyze player performance in competitive Pokémon TCG tournaments, categorizing players into four distinct performance groups based on metrics such as wins, losses, and ties. Using a dataset comprising over 186,000 players, the study identifies key clusters representing varying levels of success in the game. The data was preprocessed by handling missing values and standardizing features to ensure uniform contribution across metrics. MiniBatchKMeans was employed to optimize clustering for large datasets, resulting in a model that groups players into low, moderate, and high-performance categories. The clustering results provide valuable insights into the distribution of player performance and help identify trends in competitive dynamics. A Silhouette Score of 0.4582 indicates that the clustering is moderately effective, with some overlap between clusters, suggesting that further refinement may be needed. Visualizations, including scatter plots, box plots, and heatmaps, were used to interpret the cluster characteristics, showing that top-performing players cluster into smaller groups, while a large majority of players exhibit moderate performance. The findings offer important implications for both players and tournament organizers: players can refine strategies based on their cluster profiles, while organizers can use clustering insights to design more balanced and engaging tournament formats. Future research could explore alternative clustering methods and incorporate additional performance features to further optimize player segmentation and enhance tournament design.

🚨 #PokemonTCG paper alert 🚨, and it cites my co-authored paper from last year! My first academic citation!!

Among other things, the authors find that a staggering 60% of players drop out of tournaments. They go on to offer some innovative ways to improve player engagement and tournament structure.

Ahhh congrats!! 💛
It’s super cool seeing the Rocket archetypes having a solid place in the current meta

Admittedly haven’t played a lot of Rocket’s Mewtwo, but I’ve been loving Honchkrow!

Very random opportunity, but I’m gonna be staffing at the Vancouver Riftbound regional!

Just general check-in and badge pickup likely, but super cool nonetheless!

Where did you find the metal clips?

I love your collection! It’s a beautiful tribute and super fun to see the different ways every artist depicts her.

You have some very smart display ideas too. The key hanger as a keychain display is something I gotta use

You don’t owe an apology to anyone for being at capacity 💛
Look out for yourself in anyway you can. Even if that means taking a step from socials

Wishing you well!

Rhythm Thief stole my heart when I discovered it a few years ago!

I’m revisiting it again and it’s still just as campy and charming as I remember ☺️

I had a Buneary on my OG Diamond team that died a lot cause I was young AND dumb 🤭

-So I was very moved when it eventually evolved and I realized it was triggered by friendship.
My loyal girl was patient and stayed by my side as I learned the ropes!!

I couldn’t have asked for a better partner

Thank you!

I’m lucky that a lot of our interests and series we collect for overlap quite a lot, so I’m sure once we’re done it’ll look like both of our spaces!

I hope you’ll find a place for yours soon too!

Drawing of myself and my boyfriend’s Pokemon sonas, a shiny Flareon and shiny Sylveon, holding paws and smiling at each other, surrounded by glitter and floating hearts against a pink-blue patterned backdrop.

I feel that too :/

Especially now that I’ll be sharing a space with my partner, I’m especially conscious of how much space my collection takes.

It’s just gonna be a basement suite, so I want to make sure we can showcase our collections equally!

Actually a pretty interesting concept they could use for a Pokemon movie or something

The peril is normally a Pokemon in the films, but having a person be the main point of conflict would be refreshing!

Kinda like how Blaine in the manga had the Mewtwo DNA
