So good!

I’m not trying to argue that ActivityPub is better than the AT Protocol, or the opposite. They both have their pros and cons, but most users (me included) don’t actually care about the protocol, they care about the culture. I like the β€œvibe” here more, so I’m here and not on Mastodon.

Yes it is, but it’s not quick. It takes some time to transfer to another instance and I’m not sure it would work while one of them is being DDoSed. I think the differences between ActivityPub and the AT Protocol are interesting here, they both have their strengths and weaknesses in this situation.

mastodon.social is just one instance which runs on Mastodon, this one happens to be run by Mastodon itself.

Designers who are really serious about software should make their own hardware.

I think there's a dire need of good designers, UX people, copy editors, etc. beyond just devs to get this message across. People figured out how to use e-mail. There's a human element to technology that can't be ignored, don't let a lack of coding skills prevent you from contributing ideas.

way too many of y’all suffer from terminal hindsight bias, nostalgia chasing, and rosy retrospection… your desires to β€œmake the internet great again” are not only misguided but dangerous too β€” conservatism is creeping in to peoples’ psyches at an alarming rate

Very smart! Maybe you should also be able to set a preferred location to work? Could be a continent, timezone, country, or state I guess.

Flip Van de Voort β€” Web Design Freelancer on Framer Experts For those going their own way

I'm now a @framer.com Expert! Coming from Webflow, I'm really liking Framer so far. It's as easy to use as Figma, but it gives you a lot of options with custom code and code components.

It's an account for Atmosphere apps.

It's not a "handle" for the whole "internet".

It's not a "Bluesky" account, a lot of us don't host our account there, and hopefully less will over time.

Atmosphere came from the community, we build as a community.

Don't overcomplicate it.

Atmosphere Account.
