What leadership and a clear plan will do. Sigh.

I like their response to the religious question. Especially ‘free thinker’. Hanna Sheehy Skeffington put down ‘none’ for herself and Owen but got listed as ‘Church of Ireland’ so I wonder how accurate the overall figure for atheists and agnostics will be?
After walking 220km from Shannon Airport to Dublin, activist Lelia Doolan concluded her address outside Leinster House by reciting Kindness, a poem by Palestinian-American poet Naomi Shihab Nye.

Come back!!
Between the great news from Hungary and the nail biting golf, this is some evening. It will be perfect if Rory McIlroy manages to hang onto his lead until the end!
In Murlough Bay today and the memorial to Roger Casement towers over the landscape. Such a poignant reminder that his final wish to be buried here has still not been honoured.
It’s great to see one’s books in bookshops but equally lovely to see copies on display in libraries! Public libraries are one of our most important institutions. So many lives transformed by access to the magic of books @librariesni.bsky.social

“We filmed while they shouted and roared and disagreed — seriously — with each other, but then one of them would make a joke..." Emma O’Grady in the Examiner article about Aosdána member Margaretta D’Arcy. #SpéirGhorm 🔊

My last picture of our beloved Daisy, taken on Monday. I never expected today would be her last day. How animals can break your heart. Such a gap now in our family 💔
Looking forward to seeing these cuties again!
Well done!! You are a fantastic choice! 👏👏
Well done @niaolainf.bsky.social @cjharvey1.bsky.social Linda Ervine. Excellent representation from the north.
😩
I wrote this in an absolute rage, and I'm really beyond grateful that the Irish Times approached me to write it.
That’s interesting as we were army brats growing up!
He thought ‘women’ was more demeaning! 🫨
You are dead right. And it’s usually used by people who aren’t that great politically. For me it’s like nails on a blackboard. I used to argue this with my late brother but never convinced him.
I came across this small demonstration against femicide while in Madrid. They called for onlookers to join them. The Spanish women acknowledged that their statistics were not the worst & we talked about Ireland. And I come home to our dreadful reality - 30 women in the north murdered since 2020.
Been there!!
The global news is so devastating. Bombings, indiscriminate killings, meglomeniacal men, families destroyed. I’m hanging onto the small treasures in life. Like the early rhubarb from Bethany, our lovely neighbourhood vegetable shop 😋
Ending St Patrick’s Day with this inspirational address. Just wow. No words. Thank you @mayor.nyc.gov
Luke Kelly’s ‘Raglan Road’ should have been placed far higher on the list. An absolute classic. I’ll say nothing about the #1 other than it wouldn’t have been my choice! But a great list.
This is our own Dolores Keane singing so beautifully in tribute to our country - as we approach our national day tomorrow - may she rest in peace. 💚🕊️ @johncreedon.bsky.social @mcculld.bsky.social @fertha.bsky.social @aine-lawlor.bsky.social @tg4.bsky.social
