Key takeaways: should you BYO containers when buying food? Asking for coffee in a reusable cup or reusing shopping bags is second nature for many, but bringing your own containers for takeaway can take getting used to. Here are some tips to get started

“Before the advent of cheap, single-use take away packaging, legend has it that Australian families used to bring saucepans to their local Chinese restaurant".

We’re calling for the Aus Gov't to introduce new packaging laws that make producers responsible, support reuse & ban wasteful packaging.

Australia’s environment minister wants to ban fishers and drillers from more ocean – and avoid a culture war Conservationists hope Murray Watt’s review of national marine parks will ‘right the wrongs’ of previous downgrade of protection

Australia’s Environment Minister has confirmed his commitment to increasing the protection of our ocean.🌊

Microplastics in shark eggs!? Until now, it was assumed these microplastics were ingested later in life… not before a shark was even ‘born’.”

Sharks are already under pressure from overfishing, habitat loss and climate change — now plastic pollution is increasing the risk from day one.

And still @Coles and @Woolies continue to sell farmed Atlantic salmon from Macquarie Harbour.

Skip the salmon, save the skate, and add your name to tell Coles and Woolies extinction is bad for business. www.marineconservation.org.au/actions/maug...

A renewed endangered listing found nothing had changed - not the ‘very high’ risk of extinction, not the catastrophic problem of salmon farming, nor the solution of removing salmon.
