We welcome the acquittal of peasant organiser #AmandaEchanis and demand accountability for the violations of her rights. Amanda was acquitted on January 14, 2026 after spending more than five years in detention over trumped-up charges of illegal possession of firearms and explosives.

Nasim Gholami Simiyari was arrested in 2023. She was formally charged with “propaganda against the regime,” and "armed rebellion", and was sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison.

Amani Al-Zain was arbitrarily arrested on 17 May 2020 by the Presidency of State Security on direct orders from Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Her detention continued with no public trial.
