Small animals are often seen as “easy” or ‘starter’ pets, but the truth is, there’s no such thing!
Small animals deserve proper care, space and lifelong love too.
Help us celebrate smallies by fundraising, and help us cut through the misinformation. 👉 bit.ly/3OEfFHe
See you there 🐾💙

However - say it with me - a rabbit is for life, not just Christmas!
Smalls (rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs) are frightfully misunderstood creatures, so this April we're asking you to share your #SpringtimeSmallies Small Story. 🐇(4/6)
a black silver fox rabbit with short ears 'loafed' on the floor
And it wasn't long before a fresh start with new companions beckoned for all three rabbits. All three were soon adopted and can this year look forward to Christmases in homes where they'll always know love and happiness. (3/6)
a black silver fox rabbit with white feet perched on a wooden bendy bridge. There are toys and newspaper on the floor around.
As the rabbits were not neutered, our team immediately separated them. This is because there was a risk of conflict between brothers Dasher and Blitzen without Donna, who needed to be isolated in case she was pregnant. (2/6)

Did you catch our tale of 3 buns last Christmas?
siblings Dasher, Blitzen, and Donna were found as strays after being allegedly set free from their hutch.
In the cold, under constant threat of predators, it’s unlikely they would have survived without help much longer. (1/6)

Your amazing fundraising efforts help pets like Duchess every day - thank you 💙 (5/5)

Duchess jumping up for a treat. The sky is clear and blue behind her, and a staff member is handing her the treat she's jumped up for.
Unsurprisingly, once Duchess was well enough to start her search for a new home, her sweet nature soon caught the eye of a potential adopter. And, after nearly 50 days in Blue Cross care, she had found a new owner to love her as much as her first." (4/5)
Duchess looking behind the camera, likely at a treat. Her eyes are much clearer.
But we’re so grateful that Duchess eventually found her way to Blue Cross – just a month after arriving, she was unrecognisable, both physically and mentally. She is resilient and has the ability to radiate so much love despite the sadness that she has endured. (3/5)
Duchess stood in a doorway. Her eyes still has build up around them, which makes it look like she's squinting. She is wearing a pink collar, and she's clearly had a bath.
In the absence of medicated baths for a long-term skin condition, lonely Duchess developed sore skin and fur loss. She also suffered from infected ears and eye problems, lost weight, and – without any walks – her nails grew painfully long. (2/5)
Duchess on arrival. A scruffy tan jack russell with rough hair and gunk around her eyes. She is stood on the floor on the vets. Despite it all, her tail is wagging.
Meet Duchess🐕
"Through no fault of her loving owner, the eight-year-old jack russell cross had been suddenly left home alone. A concerned neighbour started popping in to feed Duchess, but it was no substitute for proper care and love (1/5)
It's official - we're going to DreamHack Birmingham!
I'll be traversing the great depths of the NEC, so come say hi if you want to learn about our exciting fundraisers this year 👀
See you there!
