Anyone able to id this beautiful snake? Jervis Bay area.
Thinking a very dark diamond python 🤔
Wasn’t confident in my identification, so didn’t get too close / stay long.

Picture of a very well camouflaged tawny frogmouth in the Australian bush
Was about to duck under the branch and only realised it was there when it was right in front of my face. 😅
What an incredible camouflage!

Came across this stunning little guy on my way to the gym 😍
A little searching tells me it’s an Amorbus Alternatus, also known as the Eucalyptus Tip-wilter Bug, or the clown bug.

If you've ever been frustrated by trying to access data from satellites like #Landsat or #Sentinel2, tune into our very first #OpenDataCube community talk next week by Caitlin Adams: how to easily load satellite data for anywhere on the planet using the #OpenSource #odcstac Python package! 🛰️🚀
Deleted to save confusing others 🙃
Ooh gosh! No idea how I messed that up! - going to blame the heat! 😆
Thanks! Will check them out 😊
lol! I’m opposite, as a vegan I found it looking like meat very unappealing (did it for the bit), but knowing that it was made from seitan was the good bit.
Most importantly, it tasted good!! 👍
Thanks!! Will check this out 😊
This has been me too without realising. Thinking I need to come up with a mini project for zarr exploration
It’s mock meat made from seitan (wheat gluten)
Made a mock turkey for mock #thanksgiving
Didn’t turn out too bad if I do say so myself! 😊

Guess I feel there’s a bias to “go with what you know” and I want to short circuit this and get to know this in advance to have in my toolkit 😊
I’ve worked extensively with COG and NetCDF for satellite & high-res aerial imagery. Zarr comes up a lot, but I haven’t worked with it.
I’ve no doubt zarr will be the right solution for me at some point, to ensure I know when this is I want to get a feel for it in advance.
Keen to learn about #zarr files but don’t have a use-case at this point. How do YOU learn about a new tool/tech when you don’t have a specific need?
1. Read the docs
2. Find a tutorial
3. Come up with a mini project to ‘play’ with it
4. ?
I’ve no idea what this would look like, but it sounds fun and fabulous! ❤️🎄
