Interesting to see Emery flip the No. 9 order last night and do something I've been asking for probably a month.
Use Abraham to wear down defences (and his cleaner link play helps earlier in games), then sub on Watkins as more spaces open up. It certainly seemed to suit Watkins.
Add this to the already frankly incredible stockpile of "somehow, Villa did not take a shot from *this* situation"

Some dreadful performances from Villa players in that first half. No need to name anyone but good Lord.

Probably not a lot of deep analysis needed for that one. But for Marco Bizot's madness I think Villa stroll into the next round.
Truthfully, we do not have the squad depth to compete on 3 fronts. Europa and PL are much more important.
