Dark writing prompt for the day: Are we all just one algorithm or chatbot away from becoming a bad person? What if we could be better.

This is an online creative writing and publishing program and we've had campers from every time zone in the United States, and even one international camper living in Brazil!
So proud to be part of this team supporting teen authors and taking them seriously. Thanks Wolfs on Books for the interview and to all involved in camp! If you know a teen writer who'd like to learn abou the art of revision and publishing, let's connect. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nU0D...
Our Emerging Teen Writing and Publishing Camp is looking for #teenwriters to publish! This award-winning online program is dear to my heart since we started in 2020 with my daughter. It's the camp all writers wish we had as teens and a really cool opportunity for teens. Flyer and last summer's book
Sometimes you have to live your life and do the things that scare you, because that's what makes your story interesting. I'm not preaching. I'm giving myself a pep talk. LOL.
One big bright spot in my publishing career is working with diehard #teenauthors, including my daughter who loves to write. We recently released, Focal Points, an anthology. Know a teen who loves writing? Let me know and I'll send info on the Emerging Teen Authors Writing and Publishing Camp.
I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

That's wonderful about being healthy and getting movement, Kathy. And you are fab at any weight. I do have to ask, does the pack on your back include books? Because that would make it even better! I definitely lift more when I'm mad! Go Kathy go!
I wrote swaths of "Love and Other Monsters in the Dark," my last book, in the heart of the pandemic. Lately, it's a similar vibe. Writers and creatives are telling me they are struggling to create in the face of despair. We need your art more than ever. To cope, to heal, to be strong.
Also, to clarify, I still read the news and social media on my computer. It's just in measured doses.
I have blocked all the social media and news sites from my phone and try to wind down before going to bed by reading or journaling. Minneapolis is my home town and I have family there. The situation is worse than what you see in the news. It's understandable to struggle right now. Sending hugs.
I'll say it again, in times of trouble turn to your art. Writing a poem or story makes you stronger. Whether it brings joy, a moment of peace, healing, enhances your ability to cope with this crazy world, or help someone else. Art of all kinds is beyond powerful. Grateful #writer #writingcommunity
Do you ever feel like your home office is a prison, so you work somewhere else in your home and then the whole house starts to feel like a prison? Not saying that's how I feel, just maybe wondering... stircrazy writer problems.
So excited for the #teenwriters who wrote this book! Focal Points, in the award-winning Camp Ink Series, is the latest anthology from our Emerging Teen Authors Writing and Publishing Camp. Shockingly good and wildly imaginative stories. Know a teen who wants to pub? www.amazon.com/dp/B0GBWCCRQL
Just a reminder that sometimes, the struggle, the floundering is part of the writing process. You might spend a year fighting to find the right title, then write it on a napkin in a coffee shop. The two are related. That is all. #amwriting #writingprocess
Say the nice things. Tell the people who have made a difference in your life that they have. One of my friends and mentors passed away today. We had plans to go skiing this season but life had other plans. I'm so sad. Looking back at our last text chain, I'm thankful that I happened to tell them.
Was thinking about how poets can arrange words like some people arrange flowers. The art of the placement of a comma, and how the sounds of one word pair with another. Maybe this is why I've been rearranging a section trying to find the beauty in tiny details. #amwriting #writingcommunity
Any tips for breaking a facebook habit? I don't curate anything or block and it shows me the weirdest ads, which helps me not want to spend much time on it. I deleted it from my phone and only see it on my computer sporadically. It's blocked on my browser on my phone as well.
Girls who like horses, might be hard to research centaurs! :)
Of the five of us, only one was adamant that she had never bitten anyone. The rest of the group (non-horse girls) did not admit to biting anyone.
Someone needs to research horse girls and what percentage bite compared to girls who are not into horses. I went to a literary lunch today with some great gals and this question came up because many were into horses and I may have done a poll bc I'm weird. #writermusings #writingcommunity
Book cover for A Storm of Stories, featuring car headlights stranded behind rocks and snow and the book's title, as well as the words: There is truth to any story. Details don't matter.
What should I do to celebrate ten years of A Storm of Stories? Looking for ideas for an upcoming #bookbirthday. #amwriting #writingcommunity www.amazon.com/dp/0692660941

I feel bad for the author using a publicist who sent me an AI-generated email without a clear ask. Not sure it's real. I worry about missing emails from actual people. They weren't trying to sell me something, my guess is they wanted a blurb. Sometimes it just sounds like noise. #writercommunity
Trying times, but finding things to be grateful for. Writing a poem and feeling something, getting good news from a dr's office, taking a .46-mile walk in fall leaves in my sneakers (after an injury trapped me in a boot). #amwriting #writingcommunity What light are you finding?
Do you miss NaNoWriMo? Regardless of the problems with the org, it was the worst possible timing for writing a novel with Turkey Day, travel and family obligations for me. I was never a fan of binge writing in November instead of finding a healthy writing rhythm. I was never happy with the results.
Girl with her arms on a table, behind a book called Jump the Fence. The book features a black sheep and a broken chain link fence.
8 teens from our Emerging Teen Authors Camp are up for an award tonight at the CIPA Evvy Awards in anthologies. Graphic design whiz Victoria Wolf is a finalist in interior design. (Know a teen who wants to join camp next summer? Reach out.) #teenwriters #awardwinningbooks #teenauthors #booksky
Not actually bringing my kindle, so I'm afraid I'll have a dozen books in my suitcase....
