I'm going to keep shouting about this, so any help would be most appreciated!

Ahead of a talk at NYU on games media, I’d like to hear how folks get reporting.
Not criticism. Not analysis. I got those covered for now
Plz send links to outlets, writers, video makers, podcasters who do interviews, uncover new info, break news, etc!

Reading you article made me nostalgic - Otranto, Fred Botting, Van Gennep. My inspiration to research games came after reading Anna Laetitia Barbaud’s Sir Bertrand: A Fragment. There’s a very special place in my heart for Gothic literature.
@shirachess.bsky.social’s article helped me realize why the Backrooms trailer resonated with me. I started studying videogames while I was studying Gothic literature, so the concept of Institutional Gothic and the Nevis history are music to my ears. thereader.mitpress.mit.edu/backrooms-an...
This is why we need literature. ❤️
Let us do without soldiers. The joy built upon successful slaughter is not the right kind of joy; it will not do; it is fearful and it is trivial.

Also, most times, this kind of "can I pick your brain?" messages alienate the person receiving them, so please don't.

Adjuncts often don’t have offices. They don’t get paid for prep, grading, or meeting students. They usually have other jobs. Adjuncts can’t be your department’s ambassadors to students because they have unequal job status and supports.

I was once laid off from an indie studio. Whether or not I get to keep making games depends entirely on how successful my previous ones are.
So no, indie games are not some magical savior. They’re having a hard enough time saving themselves.
Oh Apollo’s demo is also available now on Steam! 💛

I love building things in @inkle.co's ink, I love interactive fiction, and I love game cities. Also, I do love teaching my *Create An Interactive City In Text using ink* course.

Oh, I don't think I have a backup copy. Maybe I should outline my old ideas and write them on a blog post if there's interest.
My first paper presentation as a grad student was on “splatstick”, horror movies that used comedy alongside gore - Evil Dead 2 and Peter Jackson’s Braindead were the main examples. The core idea is that many of the underlying mechanics of both were very similar.

Screenshot of part of The Crimson Diamond Steam store page, showing a bit of the key art, on which is handwritten in clunky letters: "600! Thank you!!", indicating the game has hit 600 reviews and is Overwhelmingly Positive! The key art is altered so that Nancy Maple is wearing a conical party hat with blue and green stripes and there are little fireworks in the sky.
Thank you so much!! 🎉🎉 The Crimson Diamond has hit 600 reviews, Overwhelmingly Positive! Making this game was my dream project, seeing people play and enjoy it gives me so much joy. ☺️
And it's still 25% off (until tomorrow) for the #CuriousOdyssey Steam event! store.steampowered.com/app/1098770/...
