I think for sure Tina uses a bit of eye of newt or wing of bat in her work.

To add to that, all of our physical Issues come WITH digital versions. And I think a lot of KS creators do that. Which we forget about when pricing. The comic at the shop that you pay $5 for doesn't include a PDF. If you buy that too, now it's an $8-9 cost vs a $10-12. So... not that different.

All of her work is hand drawn in pencil on art paper. It's really magic to be making a comic this way.

The other thing to remember about indie/ KS comics, most are low print runs printed on 80lb interiors with plus cover stock.
Your 22 page copy of Spider-Man… if it had those specs with a limited 500 copy print run, would have a retail price of $50+ easy, as it would be a coveted collectible.
