Want to thrive in the Premier League? Don’t play the game your opponents want you to play The teams currently succeeding in England's top flight are experts at pushing opposing sides into situations that expose their weaknesses

The diversity of team styles in the 2024-25 Premier League increases the importance of forcing the opponent to play the game that suits you more than it does them.

Zelenskyy went into that nest of vipers and roasted them all. Good. They all exposed themselves, they demeaned themselves in a way that was undeniable. Perfect.

Editor’s note: everything I’d write about that game is in this piece. I don’t think you’d want to read β€œwhy Arsenal can’t break through against tough blocks with big players, and why they shoulda done something about it” for the tenth time.

I’m gonna go write about Sverre Nypan.

Expanding upon this with some other phases. Essentially a four-box-two. It's less of "Merino as a striker" than "Merino and Ø as floating 10s," with Trossard and Nwaneri pinching in centrally during advanced phases to get them max shooting opportunities. I think FBs should mostly stay wide.

Diabolical halftime show. Generational hate. We haven’t seen this kind of pettiness since Alfred Borden was ruining Robert Angier’s life in The Prestige

How a Canadian scientist and a venomous lizard helped pave the way for Ozempic - National | Globalnews.ca In 1984, Dr. Daniel Drucker, an endocrinologist from the University of Toronto, discovered a hormone that helped pave the way for popular diabetes drugs such as Ozempic.

This is the most relevant article to NIH and research cuts I’ve seen.

Imagine if this was today , how many people would be saying β€œWhy are we studying Gila Monsters and their impact on diabetes ? That’s wasted money !”

Greenland going HARD with this new jersey πŸ₯΅

Unable to apply to UEFA, the territory 2142 miles from North America will be hoping to become the 42nd member of CONCACAF. A jersey that could be seen at a stateside game near you, but only if their May application gets approved 😏

It's rude how little academy and community coaches get paid. Constantly treading the line between football coach and social/youth worker. It's a highly skilled profession that doesn't get the respect or pay it deserves. It's a shame, especially when 'elite' coaches don't care about players enough.

ttx - Fulham kept Arsenal at bay during this first half (1 shot and just 0.18xG from open play)

5-4-1 midblock: Close passing lanes to Ode and Saka by congesting the LHS, and force the Gunners to go to the left.

Timber's absence from RB is affecting AFC's dynamics too.

Arsenal dominated Manchester United out of possession with their hybrid (zonal -> man to man) press, while they were constantly able to create advantages in their own build up against United's passive 5-2-3 shape (4vs3 in the first line, 3vs2 in the second line).
