Good lord this was four years ago. In 2022 I visited the set of THE LAST DRIVE-IN, and it turned out to be one of my favorite things I’ve ever written. A long-ish Sunday read for you. www.fangoria.com/joe-bobs-err...

Some great writing from Todd Farmer. Heartbreaking, then inspirational, a call for empathy in a world that doesn't always seem capable of it. And now I'm excited to check out his novels, too!

Love seeing all the success for this film! It's a treat when Canadian films can delight and be unabashedly Canadian. #NTBTSTM

‘People keep reinventing the same damn movie’: cinematographer Roger Deakins on 50 years behind the camera and his fears for film’s future This master craftsman’s work has lit up everything from Bond to Blade Runner 2049. My parents died a couple years before smartphones, and the only audio I ever had of them were voicemails that they’d left on whatever landline I had when they died, deleted when I moved and changed numbers. The writer’s longing to hear his dad’s voice one more time is palpable. Great read.

my 75yo mother told me last night that she’s planning to delete Instagram and Facebook because she’s sick of not being able to tell what’s AI and what’s not, and I genuinely don’t think tech companies have reckoned with this kind of move as an actual possibility

"A scene in a script should never be longer in number of pages than it has number of characters." In short, a two person scene should never be longer than 2 pages.

Scott & I include a long dialog scene in every one of our movies that we are ALWAYS told is too long and will be cut, then never is.

This is really, really good, and gets to the heart of what I love about PLURIBUS: It's a story about an author who gets everything she wants -- security, adoring fans, endless time to write -- and won't stop looking for the catch.
