After my mini outburst earlier, it's actually quite hilarious to see all these different actors (in more ways than one) - media, politicians - attempt to bring Starmer down once again and failing miserably.
There is one simple truth at the heart of this:
They have absolutely nothing on Starmer.

Today I’m remembering the exact same campaign the media ran against Gordon Brown to unseat him, an intelligent and compassionate leader.
I see you and the media are moving on from the actual thing, to the handling of the thing. Extraordinary doesn’t cover this. Malicious? Never ending? Vindictive? It’s not a problem for Starmer, it’s a problem for democracy when there’s a two year relentless campaign against the government.
I don’t know if others have seen Olly Robbins’ letter to the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, it certainly cleared a few things up in my mind as to how DV works. I thought it might be useful to publish…
I see where you’re coming from. It’s good someone stopped him. But they’ve sacked other military leaders for less. And what on earth was Trump planning? These are the actions of a deranged lunatic.

Alarming news from the @meidastouch.com Trump reportedly blocked from accessing nuclear codes by top military official. Profoundly disturbing if true.
Lies Industry UK - Sopel from News Agents podcast now:
“Starmer must resign because he appointed Mandelson.”
Sopel then:
“Mandelson is a class act.”
What do people want? He's a thoroughly decent man, motivated to do the best for his country, a lifelong Labour Party member, a skilled and educated man with a distinguished history of public service. But that's not good enough for the commentariat who seemingly would prefer bastards like Farage.
All this faux Mandelson outrage is designed to inflict as much political damage to the gov, and particularly, to Starmer. Reform would love for all this to lead to a triggered early GE. Whilst some on the left of the Labour party will be hoping for a little bit of payback for Corbyn's downfall.
I understand five words in this.
@therestpolitics.bsky.social
Performative nonsense.
And similarly I have little truck with people who start their posts with “Starmer is boring and/or incompetent but…”. If you want an entertainer or a boorish buffoon as PM you’re not interested in politics but show business.
Unfollowing and blocking lots today. The problem of the centre and centre left is that they hate each other more than they oppose the the forces of the right. I won’t have people in my timeline who can’t see how this whole Mandelson thing is got up by the right.
I #StandWithStarmer I know a got-up right-wing hatchet-job when I see it.
Disappointed that you’re swallowing the narrative about Starmer. There’s been a clear campaign since the election to oust Labour by right wing forces, from rioters, flag shaggers, the media including the Guardian and BBC.
Exactly this, and a point few people have made. For all his faults, Mandelson offered something others couldn’t: connections, experience, a certain cachet with the US government, a transatlantic viewpoint. I can see why he was appointed.
The Press knew. They laughed.
The Tories knew. They didn’t care.
All I see now is hypocrisy.
The difference between US and UK politics is incredible. Trump posts a picture of himself as Jesus but Starmer has to resign because someone didn't tell him something when hiring someone else
“New York’s Cutest” 😍😍😍
On the button. Greens - Lib Dems wake up.
Political editor of the Guardian.
This! 🙏🏻
There’s no evidence he “ignored expert advice.” Right there is the problem.
The world is going to hell in a handcart and what is the UK media focusing on? Whether our Prime Minister should resign for an ambassador appointment. What the actual?
As a former Green Party member it quickly became very clear that its members hold a disparate range of views between the far left and the far right. Its policy making processes result in contradictory and naive positions being taken. I left because, frankly, they’re unserious.
I count nine articles on the home page of the execrable @theguardian.com about the Mandelson thing. They and others have had Starmer and Labour in their sights since day 1. The media in this country stinks like a midden.
