Wonder where Nilo is working now, @alexjward.bsky.social? Do you still have fond memories of working with him? I was pretty jazzed to meet him, I must admit.

Who remembers the Northern Irish version of Road Rash? Good times.
I only knew it from reading Calvin and Hobbes cartoons.
I reported a seller on TikTok who was knocking out 16 TERABYTE flash drives for less than £20 as fraudulent.
TikTok's finest minds wasted no time before investigating and judging everything legit as it gets on TikTok.
Again with the Silk Cut misunderstanding. Are they doing it as a wind-up now? 😄
It's advertising Silk Cut cigarettes. The SILK has been CUT.
These ads were everywhere in the 80s, and the health warning was just a mandatory requirement, not the purpose of the ad.
Always nice to be reminded of a previous entry in one's canon. Split/Second still being enjoyed and supported after 15 and 2/3 years! And being sold for £3.19, which is a lot less than it cost to make.

This is where my Dad was stationed during his National Service, keeping the radar systems scanning for incoming Russians. It's haunted.
The first episode of the Good Life is on and I dream of having the job Tom is sick of. Hand drawn technical illustrations of toys, the stuff dreams were made of and my A levels promised.
Nice one Dan.
I seem to remember those were particularly good joysticks!
Tried setting up an Etsy shop to scrape up some side-cash. No sooner was it set up than "Etsy" told me my shop was closed until I went through some account verification.
A scam, of course, and some MF-er was trying to transfer £700 into a Western Union account.
I blocked it, but fuck these people.
I'd moved on from ZZAP! To C&VG by the time this came out, so I don't think I reviewed it myself. Software Creations' work is always memorable for the magical Follin music, which was what made me fall in love with C64 Bionic Commando when I reviewed that at ZZAP!
At my age I'm too tired to express this many authentic beliefs.
Are we sure this isn't the answer to "how many roads must a man walk down?"

My husband @mjowen174.bsky.social is very down and it’s difficult to see.
He had a thriving writing business until AI came along but now he’s struggling to find work.
Please repost this far and wide in the hope that he can find some writing work.

Only Ben Elton, Harry Enfield and Lenny Henry can save this now!
This thread is an absolute corker.
These adverts were so good.
Clearly made with such affection for the source.
The Shadows gag just gave me a heart attack.
One of me all-time favourite games of all time there, mate.
What is not happening with constitutionalism in the United States and the United Kingdom
A look at constitutionalism (and the lack of it) in the US and UK, with reference to a 1980s computer magazine column

"Redline Racer"! An early Criterion classic!
REDBUBBLE Hi Nicholas, We're sorry, but we had to remove your artwork from the Redbubble marketplace under our IP & Publicity Rights Policy, because we received a complaint from someone alleging that your artwork violates their rights. More information: Rights holder: West Virginia University Subject matter: West Virginia University Affected Artwork: ITN NEWS AT 545 independentthings News at 5:45 https://www.redbubble.com/shop/ap/126828806
Can't be bothered to argue with this (and obviously I don't own the rights to the ITN logo!), but puzzled as to what this has got to do with West Virginia University.

An excellent cartoon that really captures how the promise of technology ‘unburdening humanity from the mundanity of life’ has really gone to hell in a hand cart.

Polly Toynbee is sometimes so far in Starmer's corner that it's ludicrous, but why does today's column mark her down as a "racist old shithead"? Seems a bit strong.
Orange moon through a tree.
Golden moon causing a shimmer all along the coast line. Green edges of the cliff at the bottom of the shot.
Zoomed in picture of the moon and shimmer on the water.
Moon looked so good out the window that I went up to the cliffs to see it better.

When I worked at Eidos in 1999 I was stationed at an out-of-the-way desk with a big pile of unused Silicon Graphics workstations next to me. After all the hype and expectation it's hard to believe that SGI tech came and went so quickly.
