This paper embarks on a fairytale story of how psychology slid into a credibility crisis that shook the field to its bones—and it tells how researchers and entire institutions reacted to restore confidence in psychological research. The paper also foreshadows how today’s business research is in a similar position as psychology some years ago. By telling this fairytale (see Fig. 1), we aim to provide some
guidance for business research on what to learn from the initiatives that several fields in psychology implemented during the last two decades, their merits as well as limitations. We intend to foster debates across business research fields on how
open science practices can help to ensure that insights from key research fields like
entrepreneurship, sustainability, and digitalization remain valid, credible, actionable,
and trustworthy.
Fun fairytale depiction of open science in new paper by @susanne-adler.bsky.social, @dsiegfried1.bsky.social , @olivergenschow.bsky.social and colleagues

FORRT is driven by a large and diverse community of contributors that shape one or more of our projects. Below you can see everyone’s scientific contributions in detail. Note that many also…
✨ The FORRT Credit Project offers a practical, replicable model for how large-scale collaborative science can transparently acknowledge a broad range of contributions—including forms of hidden labour often overlooked in academia.https://buff.ly/1yzeIDd buff.ly/qCsSMCK

Had a blast at the Cognitive Science Arena last weekend, a conference tailored to ECRs. Such creative and important studies!
In my keynote, I talked about the 4 Step Robustness Check, where I stressed the importance of verifying results 🧮 before replicating them.

Who would have guessed that open access and open science non-profits such as @archive.org and @cos.io are useful just in case your government want to delete scientific data?
And yet, here we are.

End of Term Web Archive – Preserving the Transition of a Nation | Internet Archive Blogs
The Internet Archive has to date downloaded 500 terabytes of US government websites, which it crawls at the end of every presidential term. The whole archive is fully searchable. This effort's housed by a donation-funded nonprofit, not a branch of the US government. blog.archive.org/2024/05/08/e...

In addition, we describe how open science is still nascent in marketing as well as consumer research and advocate for a culture shift toward more transparency. We also outline that institutions such as @forrt.bsky.social or @lmu-osc.bsky.social can help navigate the open science landscape.

We focus on actionable steps relating to research planning (e.g., preregistration, pre-analysis planning, registered reports), documentation (e.g., open materials, data, and code), and dissemination (e.g., preprints and science communication).

Do you mean papers like the discussion on the attraction effect (Frederick et al, 2014 JMR with responses by Huber et al, 2014 JMR and Simonson, 2014 JMR) or the paper by Noah et al, 2018 on the facial feedback hypothesis (JPSP)?
