Part of the problem is some HGV drivers relying on their phones for SatNav. I live in Derbyshire and a couple of weeks ago witnessed a driver trying to take a short cut that would have resulted in getting stuck. Last year an HGV driver managed to demolish part of a house doing the same!

Speeches (not really interviews as Annabelle Croft hardly asked any questions) were nearly as long as the match. As the players are clearly schooled in what to say, the speeches/interviews are largely formulaic and thus a waste of time.

Phase 1 of hedgerow and tree planting completed! Thanks to @derbyswildlife.bsky.social for all their help with this from assessment, survey, obtaining the c.1,200 plants & helping us plant them. It was hard work but worth it! All part of the Derwent Living Forest scheme. Phase 2 to follow in Oct.
We have just spent a day planting c750 trees/hedging plants with the help of two peeps from Derbyshire Wildlife Trust. It looks awful due to the plastic tree guards, but give it about 3 years and we’ll have a haven for wildlife. Now gloriously knackered!
Finally, I have deleted my X account. I am hoping my blood will boil less frequently and that I can enjoy the analog world more thoroughly.
I hadn’t realised sheep ate curlew eggs. Here in the Peak District there is intensive grazing of cattle and sheep, but much of the problem for curlews and other ground nesting birds is the timing of grass cutting which takes no account of when there are eggs or chicks on the nest.
What a load of old bollocks - Farage shouldn’t be allowed to get away with spouting this nonsense. The CBI reported just last week that the net zero sector is growing 3 times faster than the overall UK economy, & renewable energy is far cheaper than fossil fuels 🙄
