“I’m good on the coffee, I doubt you have tea, if not, I have tea bags in my bag.”
"Just making sure, it's crucial that you're in shape to make sure you can defend not just yourself, but everyone else that you careful.
You commute to Earth many times, digital barriers get broken many times. Never know when trouble comes your way."
“Ohhh, New Found Glory released a new album!!”
“See you on the star side, cowboy!”
Saffire always wanted to say that, he smiled as he watched Ume take his leave, and he would do the same.
“Don’t be a stranger, then! You know where to find me!”
Just as Saffire spoke, he got a notification on his phone. He checked it out, only to see it was an up front offering for a job in the evening.
“… Hmm, we should depart. I just made lunch money for the week. Grehehe.”
Saffire did the same, paying the owner with a happy nod.
“So, I’m not sure if you wanted to uh, stay together or not, but I am free to do so. Otherwise, this could be where we depart.”
“Sounds like kindness is a rarity, even if we can provide protection in some way.”
Saffire shook his head.
“Ahh, that was good. Been meaning to have a ramen all week. Hopefully you enjoyed the dish!”
“That’s right! He owns the business, at least the two stores in Osaka. He’s got the south side and have the north!”
He said as he finally finished his bowl.
“Master Yamato helped me find my feet in this world, without him, finding a job and being financially stable would have been rough.”
"Huh, not bad I suppose. Working in the tea shop isn't so bad, but man... I'm grateful for Master Yamato for trusting me to run another of his shops, but I can understand the stress of running one on your own."
He huffed, his "master" was one of the only humans that looked after Saffire.
"Hmm? No, of course not. Yet, I do think you have a chance on the Digital Force Unit. Same time, you're not "living" on Earth, but you do commute to it a lot."
Said the digimon.
"I just believe our best chances of survival is to make sure every Digimon is in top shape."
"Admittedly, the "rent a boyfriend" stuff isn't much work at all. While some humans are... Strange, I still get to go out and socialize. Can't really complain about that."
Saffire stated, he was nearly one with his food.
"Well, I would assume so. With your profession, you never get a day off."
- 4 hour dates on Friday and Saturday than I do as a manager at my shop for 5 days straight!"
He sighed a little bit, mainly knowing that he's technically working 7-day weeks on most weeks.
"It's why I questioned the work culture here, it can be more grueling than a day in the Digital World."
"It's not so bad that I get to meet humans who actually want to befriend digimon, even wanting to find romanticism in us."
He said, eating more of his ramen in the meantime.
"I guess the only problem is that most of my weekends end up getting booked for it. But... I make as much money doing -
"Not bad, seems to be in gear. You really haven't had the time with these in a while, huh?
You know, there's definitely of Digimon out there that can bold trouble for all of us."
At least he was getting the point.
Saffire was beginning to notice that, a little irritating on his eyes knowing it's more so for Ein and his habit of sleeping a lot.
He then sees how Ein found his guantlets.
"Oh good, now not to ask you if they work in here, but can you defend yourself with them on?"
- business.
It started out rough, but now, I have a "sound" foundation in the field. Most of my work ends up being a test for humans who are curious of being in a relationship with digimon.
In most cases, it's completely free of carnal intent and more of a "rent a digital boyfriend" for a day!"
Saffire paused and had thought of it, was trying to see himself as priest or an exorcist?
Ironically, even if that could have been a suitable replacement, he has more control over his current line of work.
"Hmm, maybe. It's like I said, I have a lot of say with what's occurring with me in that -
“Good morning there! I know we haven’t met but extending good vibes to you!”
Since there was so much to know about the ship, the hybrid would come back to the couch and have a seat. He looked more around the apartment, seeing anything interesting about it.
“I wonder if there’s more places like this, would make a suitable home for more Digimon.”
- that I felt used till I was able to stand on my own feet and take a stand.
Just when I thought about quitting, I realize that unfortunately, I was… Making good money where I could financially support myself in this world.”
He sighed as he continued eat.
“So now, I do it sparingly…”
“H-hey don’t make it so obvious!”
He was slightly embarrassed, looking away, could likely see the red hue on his cheeks while he spoke.
“Hmmm… Yes, I’m serious. While I know better not to reveal such things to everyone, I was… Not well informed about it all when I first started.
You can say -
That’s when Saffire briefly pauses, already regretting mentioning that he did have another job, and it used to be his main line of work.
“Okay, before you judge? Back when I first got the job, I didn’t know any better. But I do it less these days. I’m a male escort…”
“I’m not sure, I was hoping that you would know something a little bit more about it.”
Saffire asked as he did walk up to get a closer look at it.
“Are you alone here?”
"Woah, so there are humans that know about the afterlife? That's... As what the youngins call, crazy."
He chuckled as he took more sips and bites out of his soup.
"I um... Well, being a barista isn't my only job either, but it's my main job. But... Not enough to support me financially."
"Perhaps, though my apartment is much larger. You likely don't have to pay monthly to keep it do, you?"
Saff asked as he still looked around, soon finding himseld on the couch of the apartment.
"That ship outside, what is it exactly?"
