It’s genuinely a very fascinating example of just how clearly out of touch animation execs are, because this movie was successful thanks to audiences connecting with creators in spite of the people in power’s biases. We get to see what lessons Hollywood might learn from it now, but my hopes are low
Yeah, and that’s delightful, but KDH only won in spite of the same thinking from other executives. It was developed for theaters, Sony sold it to Netflix because they didn’t think audiences would see a movie about women, who in turn didn’t market/merchandise it because they had low expectations
between this and Elio, I am so glad I didn't go out and try to "make it" in mainstream animation - they would have broken my heart and laughed at me for it.

I think they're probably referencing the visual album Sugar just put out? So not quite the same as the other two. It looks like they're directing a feature length adaptation of Moomin, and is executive producing Lars of the Stars (which means they're likely more hands off this time)
Well those three are also entering the indie space with HUGE platforms that were build the traditional way with shows on mainstream networks. They're indie now, yes, but their work is inherently going to have a wider draw thanks to their previous work for Disney and Cartoon Network.

Called and spoke with Adobe customer support and the guy told me Adobe is discontinuing Animate because apparently the company can't think of any new features to add to the program and they feel it's gotten stale.
So they're just GETTING RID OF IT???
