Had another wonderful experience at the Sewanee Medieval Colloquium. Such a superb conference!

A rooster crows twice as I make my way to Waffle House. I read this as an excellent sign.

Astounded by how good that smoked brisket was. This Tennessee trip is starting off extremely well.

It really is horrifying. The accelerating collapse of newspapers means even less reliable information will be floating across social media.

Saw a wonderful "Macbeth" last night at U. Buffalo (directed by Danielle Rosvally). A uniformly excellent cast, incredible sets & costumes, some really bold comedy & dance elements, & a really fascinating integration of the Sisters + Hecate as a kind of chorus. What a theatrical treat!

Agreed. It's my favorite novel.

I like the hire. We get some continuity for a very good offense, but I bet Brady will get to be a bit more aggressive (he is in the Sean Payton coaching tree). And the defense can only improve with McDermott's soft zone prevent defense regularly letting good teams torch us in the playoffs.

Only chance for one final game at Highmark Stadium would be Bills-Charhers in the AFC Championship (which would be great for the Bills and for Buffalo!).

The identification was entirely due to our awesome rafting guide, Mark-- the ecology-sage of Adirondack Adventures (an amazingly learned and cool guide!).

Was excited to see a new kind of creature on our river rafting trip on the Indian and Hudson Rivers: hellgramite (the larval form of Dobsonflies-- basically, Sleestak-looking egg-like sacs lazing on an exposed rock).

Just visited Whitehall, NY. Bigfoot kitsch, the birthplace of the US Navy, & a chance to see Champ: what more could you ask for (except maybe one open restaurant)? Had a blast.

Even more than usual, Buffalo is throwing mixed weather signals these past couple of days. The Nickel City will only be dragged kicking and screaming into full Spring, it seems.

Are you suggesting that somehow journalism is real labor and should be valued as such? Agreed!

But if someone offers a second-rounder, the draft is apparently full of great RBs who can catch (and maybe even block a little, too). I especially hope.Clevelamd or Tennessee might want to deal.

Did you try to do a double-sided single lanyard? That would be nifty.

Beautiful weather in Buffalo right now. Real Spring is coming early this year; I can feel it.
