NEW PERSONAL WORK

I had a dream I was drawing thumbnails, and - in the dream - sketched this out and titled it "The Dreamer". That was striking enough that I woke up, sketched out the thumbnail in real life, and then sat on it for like eight years. Until now!

Fabric folds are so hard. At least for me. The more detail I add the more they start to look like frosting on a cake. Crispness does not come naturally to me. But I try!!

A picture of a bedroom in the morning. A large mass of vines has entered through the open window and covers most of the bed and wall. On the bed, the plant betrays the shape of a person beneath, choked in their sleep as they lied in a fetal position. Small, purple flowers bloom around them.

Pueraria suffocata, known as smotherwort, is the fastest-growing species of plant. This vine of the kudzu family can, under ideal conditions, spread 10 meters per day.

People living in areas where this species is invasive are advised to close their windows at night to avoid accidental asphyxiation.
