There are many more things to explore in this new version of #GridScore NEXT. Why not have a look yourself at

โช๏ธ Dedicated guided walk and barcode mode
If you want to skip the visual trials display and jump straight into data collection via barcodes or a guided walk, there are now dedicated pages for these.
๐ท๏ธ More trait data types
Based on popular demand we have added multi-category traits and more customisable stepper/range traits.
๐ Better chart highlighting
To better understand your data GridScore now offers more options for highlighting things like reps, treatments or specific germplasm across all charts.
๐ค Custom row and column names
In some crops, what GridScore calls a row or column might be called something else. Lane and row for example or row and tree.
To accommodate this, GridScore now lets you define custom names for these.
๐ฆ Plot highlighting
You can now highlight specific plots on the main data display. The options include highlighting by reps, treatments, germplasm names and previously scored plot.
๐ Plot and trial locking
Trial owners can now lock a whole trial or specific rows, columns or plots which will prevent any further edits. This can be used to "disable" guard rows or dead plants or to mark a trial as completed.
After a long development phase I'm happy to announce v4 of #GridScore with a completely new user interface and a whole lot of new features!

Professor Philippa Borrill
We are devastated to announce that our colleague and friend Professor Philippa Borrill died over the Easter weekend following a rare immune system disorder (HLH). She was a fantastic scientist, collaborator and mentor, and a close friend to many: www.jic.ac.uk/news/profess...
It doesn't look super comfortable, but Kaylee doesn't seem to mind getting squished ๐

Amazing views from Fara today. Managed to catch some sunshine while watching a cloud inversion in the distance. Schiehallion was swimming in a sea of clouds. Loads of deer about as well.

Kaylee must have been *really* hungry today ๐ฎ

I'm pretty pleased with my 5th place on the #RSE #RSEng #researchsoftware leaderboard for #AdventOfCode this year ๐
I've completed "Christmas Tree Farm" - Day 12 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/12
That's a wrap! I much prefer the shorter format. Leaves more time for other things in this busy month. Thanks to @was.tl as always! Amazing work!
I've completed "Reactor" - Day 11 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/11
Nice graph task. Got a chance to use our tool #helium to visualize it!

I've completed Part One of "Factory" - Day 10 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/10
BFS for p1 but couldn't be bothered with p2. I hate LP.
Visualization for p1 below. blocks=machines, top is heatmap of indicator flip counts.

I've completed "Movie Theater" - Day 9 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/9
Pretty boring visualization today, but incrementally drawing the over 100k rectangles seemed a bit much.

I've completed "Playground" - Day 8 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/8
The task description had me confused for quite a while. I didn't realise comparing two nodes in the same cluster counts as a valid "connection".

I've completed "Laboratories" - Day 7 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/7
What a lovely Christmas tree.

I've completed "Trash Compactor" - Day 6 - Advent of Code 2025 #AdventOfCode adventofcode.com/2025/day/6
Interesting challenge today. Reminded me of some much hated space-delimited file formats...
