accuweather now wants me to create an account to find out about the tornado warning I’m under, and instead I think I’d like to start murdering people

Just recalled a memory- I think they had shields meant to be glued to the non-spear holding forearm. They were tall and rectangular with abstract faces on them. I'll have to dig through my bits, I feel like I held onto one somewhere

Nothing. My vague memory from 40+ years ago was that he might have come in a blister with 2 other figures (which I still have somewhere in storage), and that the spears were cut metal rod stock and very rigid.

It was always strange to me that HPL was simultaneously saying "The cosmos cares nothing for humanity, the entirety of existence moves at scales and with purposes that render every mortal ambition meaningless and futile" and also "wow, those swarthy people, amiright?"

I had to craft a playlist for someone headed to rehab, who could only bring an MP3 player. It was surreal, a high-stakes playlist that had to do a lot of emotional heavy lifting while still being true to the dark place the listener was in. (they're doing great, said the music helped a bit)

I've discovered so much great music through it! And I had to curate an MP3 player for someone a few years ago, it was amazing to hand-craft a playlist again

As our tornado sirens have stopped going off for the second time tonight just as we were headed for the basement, I'm reminded of how Project 2025 seeks to privatize the national weather service, and I'm further convinced that the only sane option is to cook and eat all of the Heritage Foundation

It’s a fun challenge! I’m also trying to write the wiki from an in-world perspective, which adds a layer of challenge since I can’t say “species X is like Tolkien dwarves, but with tentacles”

The Scattered Realms The Scattered Realms is a TTRPG world that centers on exploration, innovation and upheaval. After millennia of isolation, the far-flung realms of a damaged world...

It’s all in a wiki I’m building out (with one contributor, open to more) feel free to check it out, im aching for feedback and criticism scatteredrealms.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page

The clues are presented so that a prospective DM running a campaign in the realms has several choices for what’s really going on, ranging from the relatively not-so-bad to the cosmically awful, so they can choose an underlying story that suits the style of their table.

All that can be said for certain is that none of the children have been harmed. Most rescued children have no recollection of their time in captivity, and even the creatures participating seem to know little about who they serve or what their aims are.

About 70 years ago, one group of free-thinkers defied their theocratic rulers and launched a major expedition underground, and discovered subterranean creatures transporting unconscious or ensorcelled children from the craters on the surface. Theories on the purpose of this vary wildly, and (more)

In my scattered realms campaign world, the various species live in craters, where air flowing up from underground becomes trapped under toxic clouds. Separated for millennia, each species thought they were the only living beings in existence, protected by their god or gods from a deadly world (more)

Any experts in old miniatures who can identify this fella? He used to have a spear, I’m pretty sure I got him and a few others in the 80s at the Dungeon hobby shop in Lake Geneva

I walk to work every morning, and my coworkers have told me several times they see me coming from a block away and can tell by my stride when I’m listening to something funky (which is usually the case)

I knew people in the 90s who walked into VP of technology level positions at Fortune 500 companies because they knew some buzzwords and had the “right look”- and because the people who hired them knew absolutely nothing about computers
