Spring to Xmas 1997. Long time. It was still Babbitts. We actually implemented and set up the hiker stations at Bright Angel and Kaibab trailheads. Too many casualties the previous summer so Park Service and Babbitts tried to educate hikers about danger. None on our watch so it was a positive.

Absolutely incredible experiences when the Canyon is void of the masses. Early mornings allowed us that when we worked in the camping dept at the general store. Easily a highlight.

My favorite is to hold up my index finger and say “I’ll be right back”.
And walk out the door
