Rare moment where the lower budget might be a better option - SSDs are a bad choice for long term use. You can lose data in as little as 2 years if left unpowered.

For some reason my Mx Master was laggy until I plugged the dongle into a USB extender instead of being plugged into my monitor. Kind of ridiculous how much troubleshooting it needed but it is fixable.

@jonpiccini.bsky.social Great seeing you on Last King of Queensland! Had no idea about 4ZZZ’s history especially.

One thing I appreciated about Nosferatu was seeing shadows just disappear into inky blackness. Good benefit of shooting on film.

I switched to infuse and while back and never looked back. Cleaner, better playback, better HDR support although I don’t have a modern TV. Plus it just connects to your Plex library so there’s little effort to change.

With so many countries competing on tax incentives it’s a hard sell for a government to turn away those overseas jobs - but it’s true that subsidies generally benefit the studios primarily. MEAA is using this to emphasise their push for local quotas which is vital www.meaa.org/mediaroom/un...

It’s also a subsidy for Australian film workers since overseas productions have much bigger budgets and employ a lot of local talent. Whether that’s a fair or worthy national investment is a different question.

I’m a greens member and supporter but losing seats is a loss even if the overall vote is stagnant. We don’t need to go into doom and gloom but sometimes the other end of this spectrum feels like copium that encourages everyone to never have to rethink strategies.

I can 100% see a production company making their reality contestants sign away their voice rights to get away with dodgy frankens. Already seen sound mixers do it on their own steam. But yeah I think you’d need good legislation to be able to have a paper trail to prove you’re not twisting the truth.

It honestly flew by for me but I can’t escape the fact that I was at the cinemas for 4 hour straight.

Anora is incredible - one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a while yet still edge of your seat tense throughout.

Furiosa has a lot of ropey VFX shots but considering the deepfake bullet farmer and the work on young Furiosa I get where the money and resources went.

I’m only 33 but I also had this issue - especially at the start. Thought it was just my theatre but maybe it’s an overall mix issue. Listening to the soundtrack means I now know what I missed at least.
