My mess of thoughts on it piles up like: folk exhausted of having more daunting questions about their own lives than words left to offer to your own—not counting the ones already known to hit as fundamentally unhelpful.

More commissions outta you would be precious — tho I got multiple reasons I don't suspect myself to be the kinda commissioner most would want, heh. The more mundane reason being I just don't have enough $ either to be a regular….
Since getting a good size SSD drive is now out of the question, I gotta try to ask people about better backups & storage options, like best corruption-resistant filesystems since I have ~500GB in removable storage but are prone to corrupting/losing files, and such.
Oh Donald Quixote, so detached from reality he himself became a hyperbolic fictional character. One that we unfortunately still have to deal with.
Seriously, stealing from my own notes on how to sum up this 'era':
Useful institutions will take longer to rebuild than it's taking him to destroy them. "Brain drain" doesn't turn around in a month.
But that was back when "kakistocracy" was still a top descriptor of the problems at hand.
Almost morbidly funny because real-life frogs don't take the boil, real-life lemmings don't take the leap, but us? History gives reasons to worry. But it also gives lessons: the great disasters happen "gradually, then suddenly." Resistance, too, is heating up—at every place they tried to get hasty.
And as much as I want to think, "they're just being obnoxiously strict about a M / F marker's physical accuracy", they're being as rude about it as possible. Not just working to out them, but to treat them as bad people for having once legally changed their markers—by giving them zero grace period.
Huh *runs sloppy step-tracker numbers*, surprised to realize this means you walked close to as far as I do on busy work nights. I got carts to push though. 🏃
I only 'get it' immediately because I've read enough ▶️YT/etc comments, to where it feels like now, anytime someone speaks enough damning truth to scary powers-that-be (e.g. Boeing), one of their fans chimes in, 'remember, this (wo)man is not suicidal.'
But a journey it's been indeed, and I'm happy to share it with those who remain despite watching history trying to repeat. The world needs people who see both how terrible it can be and how good it can still be. (I enjoyed a book from a realistically fearful-but-hopeful Holocaust survivor, for one.)
Heck of a surprise word. I thought it'd be an -ology of the mis-, and instead it's a mis- of what -ologists do.
Real fans will find more angles than horny; for me, the drawover is heckin' kyuuute, as is enby-cat Kaelis 😸
Seriously though, the pattern of putting in the effort is inspiring. Wish I were kicking myself in gear like that. 🤔…hm. >.>
What my friends caught going around:
>>Those who believe USA liberated Venezuela>>
<<Those who know what happens when USA intervenes in Latin America<<
In this economy, they're finding every angle. Even Nigerians/etc who will try to be your new furry friend so they can get enough info on you before they betray you.
I have meter—tetrameter!
Rhythms with trochaic feet are
Flowing through your message too
Now I'm inspired thanks to you 😜
A cute vantage point but I'm not quite seeing it. All I wind up discovering is search results repeating the story of how they used Finnick's dead actor's voice (without resorting to a.i.).
And thus my sick feeling at hearing RW cable-news-opinion voices utter crude questions like whether we can cut off SNAP recipients at 300 lbs or so... End result of which would be a whole lot messier than they think.
Oh to wish it were that simple, but my overweight poor friends need their $$$ too.
My own community college had a small refreshment stand that would drop these kinda leftovers around when it shut down in the evening. Some of us took to studying nearby and quietly picking ourselves a snack when that hour rolled around. 🥐
I lamented when it got phased out in favor of a Starbucks.

DON'T FORGET!
Clarity always dearly appreciated. No better a night than this to talk about/with that which died and still has a voice.
I only hope to learn how to save future passionate, creative souls from this fate... =/
Seriously, I'm so bad at naming faces I wonder if I'm mildly face-blind, yet I had one look at that *beard* in the crowded Anthrocon hallway and I knew I had to shake your hand. Eye-catchingly good in artstyle and RL.
Indeed not, and since clinging to hope is kinda my thing, I whipped this up in a morning frenzy of preparation, after listening at work to a very encouraging book on likely long-term outcomes. Gotta spread the courage. #NoKings
All the more reason I'm going to check on the mass protests in person tomorrow. Just a smaller branch (not the big city), but that's where I can meet up with a friend, and feel safer there.
Yeah I kinda had to try VR to realize what it means to me. Would take even longer to grasp if you haven't had much positive experiences around physical closeness—though to some this can be the ultimate 'safe zone' for trying.
In any case yeah, would love to see in action.
Seriously makes sense, that general idea; people SHOULD know the value of a good USPS service to rural folk, and of food stamps to the struggling. And there's a whole lot of commonality between the two, especially now. Countless private businesses have already done the first step since 2020.
"SMELL …EDIBLE", on a Walmart display case near the NATIVE brand food-scented body wash.
A prominent eccentric artist back in Second Life oft spoke of his "gladdictions": the obsessions he got hooked on enjoying for long stretches. Love that guy.
Similar reason why parody articles like this keep circling back around, haheh... theshovel.com.au/2020/06/04/n... [The good kind of fake news can be the truest of all.]
90s? Sounds like the rise of Newt — a man whose obsession with wild beasts sadly became a love of 'law of the jungle' and promoting viciousness as 'natural'. I lament how we progressively lost our sense of compromise and shared values ever since embracing his all-out war for power and partisan wins.
