I’ve got a big pop culture blind spot when it comes to David Lynch’s stuff and I’m not sure why. I think I’ll start with Twin Peaks after reading all the touching tributes today.

We had an early VCR and a “remote”—I use the term loosely—with only one button to pause and unpause recording. It was a deep, soft click of the button and I remember the stress of trying to get it just right when editing the commercials out of a TV broadcast I was taping.

I loved it too. I was legitimately disappointed when episode 2 suddenly ended.

Me: “They can’t recast Baylan Skoll! Stevenson was perfect. This is an outrage.”

Ahsoka producers: “We got ‘The Hound’ from Game of Thrones.”

Me: “My mistake. Carry on.”

This is interesting! If I wouldn’t change a thing about a movie, is it perfect? Or am I just overlooking the small flaws? Great question.

Currently trapped watching an episode of “Bar Rescue” in which regulating uniformity of the cocktails is one of the biggest correction points. Cut to: “Mixology expert” who demonstrates a new drink and doesn’t measure jack shit.

He looks so disappointed with me and whatever bullshit I’m up to.
