hahaha yes i feel the way same 100%! it's a powerhouse! happy vacuuming!
oooooohhhh yes very good idea....ty!!
oh yeah i saw this feature! yeah slightly different than what i'm looking for :( i guess i could have a track send named a/b/c and access the wildcard $trackname, it would sort of accomplish that
reaper nerds!! is there something that can render regions with an alphabetical sequence added to the name?
for example: my region is named "mix"
i want to then render the same region as "mixA", "mixB", etc on subsequent passes
that way i can still use the $region wildcard. any ideas????
LFG!!!
seeing an institutional game audio service team begin to dissolve...is insane. never thought i'd see this kind of shakeup lol
eric's game was #3 on twitch today, so insane
do i know anyone in london?? will be there for a couple days next month
ironmouse is playing this rn and it's crazy lol
my partner released this degen IRL streamer game and it's been so fun to watch people play this live
him and his friend howeh worked on this for 1.5 years and it's finally out, doing numbers, big streamers playing this. theres been hilarious moments like xqc discovering himself in-game
my moss is thriving and i attached my first mini orchid today
this industry and this year is getting so much shittier. i dont even have anything meaningfully spicy to say
I LOVE RENDER QUEUE
wow im joining the Reaper cult
please consider helping my bestie and her partner, two beautiful people that i'd do anything for. any donation or share is super appreciated ๐
most likely there was a directive to cut costs, and outsourcing the music was an easy task. sony also has the infrastructure to lay off the entire audio team if they decide to!
that central sound team is licking their lips and would shift to support bungie as a main client if needed. parasitic
someone should put a playlist together!
LOL i recognize one of the first songs sampled/remixed, from christopher tin's song cycle www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbV6...
great album btw. but also even this would be so fucking cool as a menu theme
the most on the nose reference is ghost in the shell right? why not just lean into it. it's so weird lol
www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIVg...
plus when you think about the aesthetic references of grunge-y, cyberpunk apocalypse with graphic realism, you could get SO weird with that. music could literally sound like ANYTHING
it's a really good opportunity music to get really fucking weird
yeah plus it would give so much room for the rest of the audio palette to shine. having more weird, organic/acoustic textures in the music would help differentiate the game-y scifi sfx
the two are too similar rn imo
that was a giant rant but how blessed i feel to have โ๏ธ'd the fuck out. that's a company that did not even have room for any of my potential and pushes people down.
im doing way better, making way more impact, and i have no doubt i'm gonna help w some fucking good music
sony exclusively hires external composers! it's their thing
that or like, having mike salvatori writing a really weird Fifth Element style aria.
cmon man. that'd be so fucking weird and strange and HOT. would you not dig that???
anyways if i were to decide what marathon music would sound like, it'd be closer to this. i've listened to this track so much over the years and consider it a cornerstone of the type of IDM i'd want in a game like Marathon
www.youtube.com/watch?v=6RFj...
that's an investment that i don't think a lot of film composers will understand out of the game. a lot of game companies have no business hiring these rando big name composers if they're not going to put in the work
i was not impressed with anything i heard, im also a generational hater tho
well, a video game composer that understands that context can certainly write loops that way
i'm not saying VGM is this complicated thing and only certain people can do it. but it definitely requires coaching and time to get the best result and dynamics/structure
what's an alien world? well i dont fucking know but i think otherworldly, alien MUSIC should sound weird. unsettling. out of context.
and it should still hit all the things that an extraction shooter needs: the anticipation, the load in, the reward, the success/payoff
can you do that w loops?
