The story of Perimeter Institute, beautifully told in this mini-documentary, is an inspiring one. Worth a watch if you need a little dose of optimism about humanity's future, and what we can achieve when we're putting our best foot forward. www.youtube.com/watch?v=nY39...

Absolutely incredible.
NASA Astronaut Reid Wiseman, who commanded Artemis II, took this footage from the far side of the Moon with his iPhone.
Watch with sound on.
Stunning
[alt text by NASA] The Moon, seen here backlit by the Sun during a solar eclipse on April 6, 2026, is photographed by one of the cameras on the Orion spacecraft’s solar array wings. Orion is visible in the foreground on the left. Earth is reflecting sunlight at the left edge of the Moon, which is slightly brighter than the rest of the disk. The bright spot visible just below the Moon’s bottom right edge is Saturn. Beyond that, the bright spot at the right edge of the image is Mars. Credit: NASA
Whoa 🤯
The Moon, in full eclipse, with the #Artemis II Orion spacecraft. Part of the Moon and spacecraft are lit by Earthshine, and both Saturn and Mars are visible to the lower right. Incredible. Details: images.nasa.gov/details/art0...

“Instead of producing what looks like a generic critique from a nameless LLM,” Wired reported last week, Expert Review “lists a number of real academics and authors available to weigh in on your text. To be clear: Those people have nothing to do with this process.”🤬
Stole mine too, and I'm a nobody with one minor academic book. Apparently if the topic is narrow and specific enough to you, or You're cited somewhere, grammarly will still pretend to be you. Gross.
I've been going through these videos for some work reasons, and they're so well done. Just great work all around by @astrokatie.com and @perimeterinstitute.ca.
This is Aly. She just learned about capitalism. Certainly not a perfect system, but if that is what it takes to put chippies on the table, she understands. 13/10 (IG: alythebichon)
Someone let the penguins of the Heard and McDonald Islands know that their long ordeal is coming to an end.

This is Canada's first official look at the country's most ambitious radio observatory to date, now under construction in Penticton, BC.
Every reputable expert I know considers mRNA vaccine technology to be one of the most revolutionary advances in medicine in our lifetimes. Its inventors won the Nobel Prize in 2023. Shutting it down now is pointless self-harm to humanity.
Congratulations to Professor Michele Dougherty on her appointment as the UK's Astronomer Royal – the first woman to hold the position in its 350-year history! 🔭✨

Happy 🎂day!
At first glance this is very, very good news for NASA and other agencies. I think that many missions zeroed out by the White House decree are reversed here. Still a long way to go but this is an excellent sign. I'm sure many others will chime in on this.
Fingers crossed. Keep telling your members of Congress this is important.
This is an absurd step backwards. NASA stands among the USA's greatest achievements, and to see its science program dismantled so deliberately is heartbreaking.
I don't know what I'd do without em!
The world is in for a treat with the Rubin Observatory, mark my words. This feels like one of those things where we won't truly grasp just how big a deal this thing is until after the fact. A decade from now we'll be swimming in new info about the universe that we can't even predict yet.
