I’m well out of it now but it always seemed interesting seeing the numbers from Greater London taking the test and assuming they didn’t all move to Aylesbury in the summer.

6 days ago 1 0 0 0

They had been publishing a lot of data from 2016-2021, my question which maybe you answered, was whether the weighting of the results would be much different if the Greater London participants, who look to have scored higher than the Bucks students might have pushed up the weighting.

They were (seemingly) using the test to train for exams in other areas eg Kent. If they got good a score in Bucks this does affect the overall results for test takers closer to the schools who might have passed if the non-locals hadn’t taken the test.

This was correct when we were going through the process. Bucks at the time did publish the stats for students taking the test. Part of the problem are those from out of the area (Kent, London etc) taking the test while never intending to attend schools in the area.

+1 for gnu screen. Look for a config example that lets you start multiple tabs in the same session (I do 5 or 8 but the sky’s the limit) and I also set F7/F8 for next tab/previous tab. Everything runs in one window

Actually I was being a bit silly and sarcastic as it absolutely runs on faxes still.

I’m not shilling for us health care here.

The NHS should be more like the modern US health care system which doesn’t rely on millions of faxes a day.

A photo of a newspaper clipping from the Bucks Advertiser, 1988. It depicts 'PC Payphone', a mascot of a payphone with a police officer's helmet. Children surround it looking either excited or scared, it's hard to tell really. A police officer is gesturing towards PC payphone.
