D23 Japan seems to no longer be a thing at all. The last one was 2018.

D23 alone doesn't mean much except the fact, like I said, that this is the only chance it has to appear at a D23 if it's coming out in the next three-ish years. KH3 appeared at multiple D23s during its development.

The time is also right for the games to be ported to the Nintendo Switch 2. Once the FF7 ports are out, the next step is to highlight 4.

THERE ARE WHISPERS that 7R-3 and KH 4 are targeting the same release year. Nomura has stated they're working towards the 25th anniversary.

THE TIMING IS RIGHT!

NOW, that doesn't guarantee that this fifth kuji will mean news BUT it does happen in the middle of this year's D23. D23 is a bi-yearly event, which means that if KH4 is targeting a 2027 (or even early 2028) release, this is the only chance it has to appear at a D23.

(I believe Missing Link was meant to release around then, and the cancelation and kh4 screenshots happened around the time of the repeat kuji)

THE FIRST ONE celebrated the release of KH3
THE SECOND was for MoM
The THIRD was for the 20th anniversary and Dark Road Finale
THE FOURTH was called Linking Hearts and was meant to coincide with the pre-registration of Missing Link, it was repeated a year later (and kujis don't repeat)

James Woods kinda sorta hinted that he may have been recording for KH4, but it hasn't been confirmed.
