Psychology and education researchers: using ai is like getting kicked in the head by a horse
Bad news about Word 😬 I switched to libre office on my home computer
Greta Thunberg is right.
Doing a conference presentation on Marxism cured my depression
We didn't deserve this day.
I only took a couple English classes but I learned the sun is but a morning star
Oh no I was using this drawing as an educational tool now my lesson plan is ruined
You are harming education. You are harming educators. You are harming students.
Today in 1977 began the 504 sit-ins by disabled people. The protest was the longest occupation of a federal building and a reminder that our human rights and access protections were not gifts from the ableds, but fought for by us, and in this instance with a big assist from the Black Panther party.
This is extremely stupid and could be accomplished by any highschooler one week into a class on true BASIC. Do you need ai to use your toaster as well?
“If you’re gay or transgender, I love you. And if anybody gives you shit, tell ‘em Charles said fuck you.”
🙋🏻♂️ capitalism
Image from the big Lebowski, the dude, Donny and Walter sit at the bar. Walter says "say what you want about the tenets of national socialism, at least it's an ethos"
Walter talking about Miller and Bannon, e.g., compared to Trump and the ai CEO freaks. Hopefully it goes without saying that nazis are also evil freaks.
You might as well say he grew wings and flew around the room. What a stupid time to be alive
They have to do this culture war bullshit because they have no intention of actually improving people's lives
It's so pathetic and childish. "A male appendage" do you mean a penis? Does Mommy not let you say that naughty word?
What the fuck is a warfighter? I only hear that word from fascists in the cabinet
Not if they vote for capitalists
Democrats like cia slotkin want polite fascism.
I know people are hung up on how dumb the slogans are, but we should also note that slogans are not a "line of attack", they're just doing campaign strategy. They aren't resisting, they are asking for $5
I was not surprised to learn that I Georgetown, like most American colleges and universities, has succumbed to the pressure to appear part of the “AI” in-crowd (and to the temptation of the resources being made available to those in that crowd). But even though everything I have done in my professional life has been in some way based on the expectation that institutions will tend towards corruption, corrosion and capture, when I think about what this particular instance of that phenomenon signifies for you, the students of Georgetown, I feel very sad and angry. And I decided that the best thing to do with that sadness and anger would be to write to you all directly about why this decision by your university, which may seem on the surface to be an example of garden variety corporate thoughtlessness, should disturb you deeply, and provoke you to fight back.
Emily Tucker, the Executive Director of @georgetownprivacy.bsky.social, remains stellar and GOATed.

I've built a socioeconomic system that depends on everyone to do useful work and act ethically except the people at the top, who get unimaginable rewards for being antisocial frauds and criminals. And I think it will stand the test of time
Why wouldn't he? Those profits for those companies is the whole reason he's in power
Dang it's starting to feel like it's impossible to live a virtuous life in the heart of this disgusting empire of death.
Honoring Rachel Corrie (April 10, 1979 - March 16, 2003) Rachel Corrie was a 23-year-old International Solidarity Movement (ISM) activist from the U.S. who was crushed to death by an Israeli bulldozer while trying to stop the demolition of a Palestinian home 23 years ago today. We honor and remember Rachel, because remembrance is an act of defiance when empires want us to forget.
"Coming here [to Gaza] is one of the better things l've ever done. So when I sound crazy, or if the Israeli military should break with their racist tendency not to injure white people, please pin the reason squarely on the fact that I am in the midst of a genocide which I am also indirectly supporting, and for which my government is largely responsible.” - Rachel February 27th, 2003, two weeks before her murder, in a letter to her mother
"We are all born and someday we'll all die. Most likely to some degree alone. What if our aloneness isn't a tragedy? What if our aloneness is what allows us to speak the truth without being afraid?” - Rachel as she prepared to leave Washington state to work in solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza, January, 2003
“[Palestinians] are a good example of how to be in it for the long haul. I know that the situation gets to them — and may ultimately get them — on all kinds of levels, but I am nevertheless amazed at their strength in being able to defend such a large degree of their humanity — laughter, generosity, family-time — against the incredible horror occurring in their lives and against the constant presence of death... [the] basic ability for humans to remain human in the direst of circumstances — which I also haven’t seen before. I think the word is dignity. I wish you could meet these people. Maybe, hopefully, someday you will.” - Rachel, February 28th, 2003
On 16 March 2003, an israeli soldier crushed to death Rachel Corrie in Rafah, Gaza, using a US-made Caterpillar D9 armored bulldozer, as she tried to stop their demolition of a Palestinian family’s home. A college graduate, at 23 she went to Gaza with the International Solidarity Movement...
