Nine years ago today Janet Evanovich & I were doing a signing together for one of our co-authored books…
Thanks for posting! I received an email on my author's website, with supposed links to your books. Unlikely an author would email another out of the blue to exchange links. Suspicious, I investigated, found your warnings! Good news is your books sounds interesting! I may have to check them out!
I usually find that whatever way they're cooked, there's very little flavor other than what's on it or in it. Good, but unmemorable! I may have to try again!
LOL. I look at this and think he's thinking: this damned tree is blocking my view!
I hope you enjoy it!
My guest is Catriona McPherson, who gave up a career in academia in her native Scotland to move to California and become a full-time author. Since then, she's published 3 crime series and standalone novels of psychological suspense, earning her a loyal readership and many awards

How about "Americans" since we should be pro-Canada. To think otherwise is... well, never mind. How about Canericans?

Too bad Uvalde Elementary didn’t sell Teslas.
What a different world we could have.

While watching the Oscars the other night, this was what was outside my window while Ariana Grande was singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow. The sound of the wind chimes are mine. The voice is Ariana's. Sound on for this one.
(Very short as it is the tail end of the song.)
Came here to say that. You beat me to it.
I'd expect to see this in a Tasha Tudor illustration of The Secret Garden.
Letter from Charles M Schulz to a young Joel Lipton in 1970: “Dear Joel, I think it is more difficult these days to define what makes a good citizen then it has ever been before. Certainly all any of us can do is follow our own conscience and retain faith in our democracy. Sometimes it is the very people who cry out the loudest in favor of getting back to what they call ‘American Virtues’ who lack this faith in our country. I believe that our greatest strength lies always in the protection of our smallest minorities. Sincerely yours, Charles M. Schulz.”
Be like Charles Schulz.
My friend @erikpedersen.bsky.social shared this sad story today. Author Gary Indiana's massive book collection burning...only hours after it arrived in Altadena as part of a planned residency & foundation.

A new short story:
Meet Reynolds Endicott, a mysterious, charismatic figure who may have been a mass murderer in the mid-20th century, and his unnamed 83-year-old biographer who is unsure of how to tell Mr. Endicott's story.

This morning's sky. To those who celebrate #Christmas, may yours be as beautiful.
No slugs here! (It's supposed to be a pan of beer set at ground level. Slugs and snails are attracted to it and drown.) Not sure pouring alcohol on plant roots is all that healthy?)
Sadly, they don't work anymore. Tried all those tricks. The weather is no longer conducive to rely on companion planting.
It was a horrible year, here, too! Mine were all attacked by mite population which exploded due to the heat. I just couldn't keep up, since I don't like to use pesticides. So frustrating!
Reminder: Andrew Carnegie had a reputation as a sometime jerk, in his day, but... 1659 public libraries? 1400+ grants for community projects?
Kindle sale. Abandon by Blake Crouch. Highly recommended.
