I’m very sorry to hear that. It was an education. And the rebound ended up being a graphic novel with @theothermarioc.com that I’m extremely proud of, so not continuing with the artist-hopping slimeball on one gig freed me up for something better.

It hurt. In the end, the project went through another 2-3 artists before quietly making it to publication.

100% this. I signed onto a project once where it was casually mentioned I was the 2nd artist to work on it. Should have stopped right there, but 28 days & 64 penciled pages later I was fired and brushed off with a pittance for the work I’d done. Fool me once…

I am very pleased to put them on the shelf together.

I need to pick both of these up. I have Michael Dylan Foster’s wonderful The Book of Yokai, which has been invaluable in filling out my Hush Ronin spinoff book, Oni Gaku, featuring a ronin samurai turned monster hunting monk and his multi tailed, fickle companion, Kitsune.

I love the 1/36th distinction. If that was for Yule, then I’m another 36th of that pie.

Ra, god of the sun, projects his rays outwards, they are blocked directly by the moon, so his true rays do not reach Artemis II where a person is leaning out the window to take photos, instead Set, god of chaos and trickery, has a big mirror, and is sending his trickery-tinged light at artemis ii!!

There are people out there claiming some of the Artemis II photos are improbable, even impossible, so I made this graphic to clear up how space photography works

I never got around to doing anything with it, but this reminds me of this weird “Duck John” idea I had several years ago. I even roped him into a demo during one of my figure drawing classes.
