House Passes 'Big, Beautiful Bill' That's a Vicious Attack on Abortion and Gender-Affirming Care The budget bill would "defund" Planned Parenthood, closing nearly 200 clinics, and prohibit Medicaid from covering healthcare for transgender people, no matter their age.

The bill wouldn't just cause millions to lose their health insurance, it would also:
*ban Medicaid coverage of non-abortion care at Planned Parenthood
*ban Medicaid coverage of ANY gender-affirming care (yes, adults)
*block marketplace insurance plans from covering abortion or gender-affirming care

Last night, we were one of the first outlets to report the ADULT ban on gender affirming care for Medicaid recipients who depend on it to access it.

This morning, that bill passed 215-214-1.

It now goes to the senate.

It's a bleak day for transgender Americans.

I said it would get worse very quickly. By tomorrow we will have completed the most dangerous & frightening 24 hours thus far of Trump 2.0. Just to name a few:
1. Defiance of a court order by sending migrants to Sudan without due process (despite clear DP decision SCOTUS) & Dist. CT. order.

Went out on my first rides of the season on my bike yesterday and today. I've been nervous about riding because I'm due for a tune-up and just don't have the $300 to make that happen.

But, the Shoreline Tool Library hosted a bike event today and I got some free maintenance support. 💜🚴‍♂️💜

This is the first time in US history that a state has repealed statutory protections for a specific group.

I went out to do a little yardwork on this beautiful false spring day in Seattle, and I got to watch an adult bald eagle fly over the house a couple of times.

I love living in the Pacific Northwest.

There is no "waiver" to the trans military ban.

The only waiver is for people who have NEVER attempted to transition, who have remained closeted, and will continue to remain closeted.

That's not a waiver for trans people in the military. It's a waiver for people who are suspected of being trans.
