Was really excited that I came up with Marine Le-Penitentiary. Felt like that was a dead cert viral hit. Decided to see if anyone else had thought of it. Logging-off.

Very sad news to hear.
He wasn't to everyone's liking but I've always appreciated his work.

Joe O’Connor has just missed the final black of what could have been his second career 147. The native of Leicester lost position while going from a pink in the baulk to a black on the spot, eventually missing the last pot by inches. Nonetheless a great break but a big disappointment for Joe… #147sf

Burnt Oak Broadway circa 1926 and in the present day. To the far left is the junction of Stag Lane and in the far distance is Edgware.
This is one of my favourite images and sums up perfectly the changes the area went through. Let's take a further look...

Reminded me of that Tony Hancock line....“Flowers is alright, but it's taters as feeds yer”

‘Whelmed’ really means ‘capsized’ - the over and under were added later for effect. But you can be consolate: consoled and comforted. And gruntled too.

One dish Sicilian Luganega fennel sausage with roasted vegetables, it tastes better than it looks. One of my favourites. A drop of Chilean Bordeaux blend.

I honestly really enjoy a double ,double with liquor. When I worked at East India dock I used to have a little bimble down to Maureen's in Chrisp Street. It's the liquor that brings it all together (chilli vinegar optional, white pepper essential).

The cover of the John Coltrane Quartet album ‘A Love Supreme’

The cover of the John Coltrane Quartet album ‘A Love Supreme’

Sixty years ago today. Still as heavy as it gets. The more I hear this music, the more unfathomable the brilliance of the people who made it feels to me.

I was going to have a couple of pints of the oyster stout but the beer street is going down lovely jubbly.

Hendon Housing Estate (1920), oil painting by Russell Sidney Reeve.

This painting came up as a query from @mhhistsoc.bsky.social last night. They wanted to know where the spot was. It was a familiar question, because it was the subject of an exhaustive thread I did a few years ago, on Twitter.
