A large number of goats were brought to eat the overgrown grass, supervised by anxious sheepdogs
Revising a math paper on diagnostic AI, + the "Tower of Hanoi" problem mysteriously shows up, which mathematicians have completely figured out using fractal graphs, now useful for eigenvalue sorting. NSF: please fund fundamental work in math so many of us benefit from ...

Visiting the CLEAR-AD project (led by Nilufer Ertekin-Taner and Andy Saykin) at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida- great progress in subtyping dementia based on plasma biomarkers and neuropathology, allowing screening of drugs for CAA, immune dysfunction, tau, beta-amyloid

We had a wonderful celebration of the โญ๏ธNEWโญ๏ธ Popovich Chair in Neurodegenerative Diseases today, our very own Associate Director @ptenigma.bsky.social ๐ช๐ง
Congratulations, Paul ๐๐
Thank you ๐!
Good luck - You are doing amazing work, in a difficult field of science!
Thanks to Sharna Jamadar, Nicky Chong-White, Davyn Tam and Julia Kam, we have a solution for making MRI scans accessible for people with hearing loss in research and clinical projects: apertureneuro.org/article/1551...

*My daughter is working here this week. If you ever come here, visit Albert Freyโs house, he was a famous Swiss-American architect
Haha ! Yes :) we should have used a non-homogeneous diffusion model to solve for the fastest path to meet
*Apparently you can have a conference on the boat, which is permanently docked there.
**well not quite, that would be on the 405 freeway?
Thank you for brain-storming on cross-disorder comparisons to understand negative symptoms across thousands of individuals, multimodal machine AI, and modelling fALFF/ALFF and resting state functional connectivity in international datasets.
Amazingly several of ENIGMA's Functional MRI, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia chairs and analysts are all in town at the same time, so today we drove to a spot equidistant** between USC-ISI and UC Irvine and found that it's a lighthouse next to the Queen Mary boat*
Congratulations to our faculty member Chris Ching on receiving the @usc.edu Bosco S. Tjan Mentorship Award. A well-deserved recognition of his dedication to mentoring and supporting the next generation of scientists! We're thrilled to celebrate this honor ๐ ๐ง

She trained and inspired countless generations of neuroscientists and psychiatrists.
We co-authored many papers together, and time-lapse movies of development, which she explains here "You can make a movie of this if you are willing to wait 12 years" [1,2].

Very sad to hear of the passing of visionary neuroscientist Dr Judith Rapoport of NIMH, she pioneered neuroimaging in children and was a world expert on childhood and adolescent psychiatric conditions, including schizophrenia + OCD [3]. See video links below ๐
๐ฅWORKING THIS WEEKEND revising a paper [1] on how much data is needed to train a vision-language model (VLM) to classify brain diseases in radiologic images, and the enigmatic RIEMANN ZETA FUNCTION [0] magically appears (!!)
