Also, Lincoln was already, like, falling apart by the time it left NYC. He was embalmed, but it was new technology so it wasn't great. Perfumes weren't cutting it in their attempt to cover the stench of rot. Lincoln's decaying body was paraded about for NINETEEN days. 🤢

I recently saw a discussion similar to this on Bsky and snickered to myself. They were freaking out at the frankly crap characterization and inactivity of a couple of male characters. (Paraphrase) "He's boring, he has nothing to do, and it's like he's just standing around to serve the female lead."😂

You have to understand the opposition to understand what you actually believe in/support.

If you want to tell me how Benn Jordan is wrong about infrasound, cool, but I still don't read things posted on Substack.

Gabriela Saldaña & this is what she looks like. Also, it was a private message AND didn't use the actual 4-letter word, so those evasions on Meta don't work. They're still listening to & censoring or, in this case, reporting all private messages; what made me stop using them. Deemed credible threat!

I'm glad someone stepped up to voluntarily continue the project. That's a lot of data to halt because someone passed away.

All of the billionaires and their pets at the White House are amassing as much as they can before everything collapses. They hate society and are looking beyond it.

My favorite is gỏi cuốn with tương. I had some Sunday AND Monday with dinner! It was much cooler than a normal April day last night, so I opted for phở gà. 😋

Even if you started now and dedicated your entire life to it, you could never hate and punish people who serve in the armed forces as much as this White House does.

it’s so funny that the drunk tv host in charge of the military is like “real warriors don’t need vaccines” when all the greatest generals in history would have done anything for a jab that kept their armies safe from disease

Neanderthal Kids Grew Up So Fast—at Least Compared With Their Human Peers—Thanks to Genetic Adaptations to Their Environment Scientists think Neanderthal children may have had faster growth rates because larger bodies tend to retain heat more effectively than smaller ones

On Neanderthal childhood- 'Based on the infant’s teeth, they suspect that Amud 7 was roughly 6 months old when he or she died. However, the baby’s skeletal and brain development was more on par with a modern human between the ages of 12 and 14 months.' #anthropology #Neanderthal #Paleoanthropology 🧪

Florida's orange harvest has crashed by 95% since 2003.

Housing overdevelopment, sand mining, and overuse of pesticides have all contributed, but the main culprit is Citrus Greening.

100% of orange trees in Florida are now infected with this wasting disease deemed "incurable."

So many people saying they'd bring back headphone jacks to iPhones just make me smh once again at Apple users.

Android solved this years ago with an adapter converting the USB-C jack into a TRS jack.

Recently I was in a zoo on a weekday and noted and was glad to see more men with children - alone. No woman to pawn them off to. One man had 3 children with him, all 5yo and under. A better person than me, that's for sure.

Not praise just for a man doing it, but the culture change that lead to it.

One of the first times I really started to notice this was like a decade ago when I saw Piers Morgan calling Daniel Craig effeminate for walking in public with his child in a carrier. I think he even framed it *as* "This is not James Bond behavior."
