The final stanchion of the metal fence where the gate latches, covered in fresh green paint
Hahaha I finished painting the fence just exactly as I ran out of paint! (I actually have a 2nd gallon, but I really didn't want to open it.)
A beta release of my display board app shows the headline about Tim Cook leaving Apple
Oh shit! Actual breaking news on the board

Brooks, a large black cat, looks up at me while I take a photo of him and the two tufted rugs on the floor. Rise is on the left, a cartoon cell shaded moon, with a hat that looks like the Earth, and a brim with stars. On the right is my rug, the Artemis logo patch, with the word Artemis at the bottom, a blue arc representing the Earth, and a stylized white a, with a red path crossing it, forming the horizontal bar on the A, and representing the curved path that the spaceship was going to take to the moon. A half moon is represented on the upper right edge of the A

Brooks investigates the rugs that J & I made this weekend at Tuft House LA โ Jill made the Rise ZGI rug, and I made the Artemis patch rug. Two fun NASA rugs, because we're excited to remind ourselves of the great things we can do if we work together with each otherโฆ or more succinctly: "moon joy!" ๐
People are pining for old technologiesโCD players, VCRs, Walkmans. Whatโs behind our longing for inconvenience? www.newyorker.com/culture/essa...
I made a shiny website for my app!
busylight.app/
(I know, I know, boring Bootstrap, but it looks nice enough and I was doing it while I got my hair bleached and colored, so I only had a couple of hours)
Screenshot Lucavi @lucavi_ftw good news everyone SPACE com Potatoes are better than human blood for making space concrete bricks, scientists say.

I just found out the Corelle pattern I ate off every day, as a kid, regularly tests extremely high for lead ๐ฌ

I made a Busy Light for myself, and a macOS menu bar item controller that automatically triggers it when you're on a call โฆ or any other scene you have set up in Home Assistant. Have a look!

Why on earth doesn't _Salome's Last Dance_ have a Blu-ray release?
Happy 50th anniversary to โAll the Presidentโs Menโ โ a film that owes its existence to Redford, who bought the film rights, developed the script and cajoled a reluctant Woodward & Bernstein.
I thought it was โa great character study,โ he said later. But, for months, โthey didnโt return my calls.โ
Co-writers Dan O'Bannon and Don Jakoby began developing the plot while living together in a Hollywood apartment in the late 1970s, where low-flying police helicopters woke them on a regular basis. Their original script was a more political one, attacking the concept of a police state controlling the population through high-tech surveillance and heavy armament.
Reminds me of how Dan OโBannon was inspired to write Blue Thunder because he was annoyed with LAPD helicopters buzzing his house
the number of things wrong in this one New York Times paragraph is an embarrassment to anybody who works there
Yikes, I'm really sorry to hear that.
Things that help calm the nervous system, quickly:
- Box breathing (in for 4, hold for 4, out for 4, hold for 4, repeat)
- Immerse your face in cold water (activates mammalian dive reflex)
- Humming (stimulates vagus nerve)
- Exercise (anything helps, outside even better)
- Impeachment and removal
A 'Dinosaur Smarties' Easter egg.
Erm, they're called palaeontologists, actually.
I understand folks who are frustrated with space priorities right now in this dark & horrible time, but I also think it is hard for a lot of us not to be overcome by a bunch of truly earnest joyful nerds loving learning & discovery in an era so hostile to all earnestness, joy, learning & discovery.
like idk man, the public doesn't want this war, the polls show we hate the president, america has been hosting the biggest protest ever about every four months, and the cops all have tanks. not sure how to not disassociate for at least the hours i am at work.
Armageddon is terrible, but our only other option was diversity trainings at work.

I mean, I suppose I've been deeply ashamed to be an American for a long time now, but this feels like a whole new low
Heard through the ceiling of my apartment tonight:
(cat wailing)
Person: No!!
(cat wails some more)
Person: You do not want that! Spit it out!
(even louder wailing)
Person: That is a potato! You are an obligate carnivore!!

Thanks, I appreciate the answer!
Aha! Itโs for a sports.
Thatโs a sound I used to hear a lot of, when I was growing up, living near a navy base, but now it seems so out of place.
Why am I seeing two fighter jets fly over my city?
Well when you put it like that, Iโm sold.

Not only are the conniving Republicans dishonest and devious, this clip shows how careless they are when they go about their shenanigans.
