Wonderful points. I am hoping that we learn to adapt our ways of teaching people, and that we do so quickly

Hi all, the recent OneTaste criminal case makes me think about larger social media platforms and 'coerced' labor. Influencers and creators do a TON of work that is mostly unpaid, and they do get held hostage by the for-profit platforms. Anybody else thinking about this?
Maybe they don't optimize for engagement but they certainly train on online conversations that do AND they add a human-preference-based fine-tuning at the end. They might as well optimize for engagement, it's surely almost the same.
So.... You should be able to force someone to remain married against their will?

New York Times: Scott Perry Says Democrats ‘Hate the Military,’ Echoing Trump’s attacks. The remarks by the Republican House member from Pennsylvania align with efforts by the president and G.O.P. leaders to portray the political left as un-American.
If given the chance, I'd lose my legs all over again to serve in our great military.
The leader of your party is a five-time draft dodger who has fired more Veterans than any other president in our history.
Square that circle then tell me who really hates our military.
"Democratic operatives and candidates need to stop being scared of their own shadows and internalize the notion that attention is good, that even negative attention might redound to their benefit and that the public is so easily distracted...."
This is the most relevant article I've ever read on the topic of where the Democrats have gone wrong. IMHO, anyone interested in political strategy needs to read it and ingest every sentence.
Love it or hate it, ATTENTION is the new currency.

I don’t do this often, but: imagine if Obama had summoned the generals and announced we should use red areas of the country as a training ground for war
They are shutting down their own Congress rather than releasing these files? Is the stuff in there about Trump worse than we even thought?!?

Sigh
If you’re feeling exhausted from all the ICE news, you’re not alone. That’s the point of authoritarianism and fascism.
But you better fucking believe I’ll have a video tomorrow on this. Everyone, media and otherwise, needs to be loud as hell about what’s happening right now.
I've never seen a better argument that we can't trust this to a childish billionaire! NASA needs to have full control of, for example, the means of transporting astronauts.

Mild critisism and stating the very obvious about the deficit is not exactly political courage and is no commitment to cost-cutting, especially given the needless havoc he has caused across the world www.politico.com/news/2025/05...
The masks warn by these agents are very telling. These people KNOW that they are on the wrong side of history. They're completely open about that fact, and nowhere near courageous enough to face accountability

When the history books write about this time, surely most of the effort will be spent analyzing *why* people went along with his insane demands. I wish decision makers would consider that before they act!!!

So "honoring and glorifying DJT's personal economic philosophy" doesn't count as a reason?
DOGE claims to have saved $115 billion, but we can confirm this figure is overstated by 77.3%, meaning the actual savings amount to only $26.05 billion. To verify this, we had to rely on internal connections, as Musk has obscured details of these claims on DOGE despite promises of transparency.
Deeply disappointed and feeling betrayed, not gonna lie
Being able to drop a quarterly US GDP prediction by 5.1% from +2.3% to -2.8% in a single week is one of the most impressive economic developments in the history of the world.
I worked with a narcissistic bully once and the thing is… you can try to appease them for a while and be friendly and nice to try to get them to come along… But it will never be enough for them. It’s always better to just do what’s right despite them.
Glad it's happening somewhere on the right
I would also have expected it to be easier to find legitimate issues. But people have looked before.
Musk and his team have obviously dramatically underestimated the difficulty of replacing people with AI. It takes time and testing. So when they fall on their faces it is going to be a mess.
Thr president has 'obligations' to Russia and is ending our cyber security precautions.

It's just insane. Running out of adjectives quickly
Musk's businesses have been boosted by $38 Billion in government funding. He happily took advantage of it and is now making sure that others can't.
