Some great news coming from @joyfulnoiserecs.bsky.social this morning.
To celebrate the signing, we are releasing Wendy's new single "I Don't Miss You," available now on DSPs and as a limited-run lathe cut. Click here to order and stream: wendyeisenberg.lnk.to/idontmissyou
Earlier that year, Eisenberg also toured and released a live record as part of the Bill Orcutt Guitar Quartet, which notably led to a performance on NPR Music's Tiny Desk.
Wendy's output is truly prolific. In 2024, they released Viewfinder, a double-album jazz and improv song cycle. The album was universally acclaimed and was listed as one of Pitchfork’s best albums of 2024.
We are very excited today to announce that Wendy Eisenberg will be joining the family of artists here at Joyful Noise Recordings. Joining them on the roster is another of Wendy's projects, Editrix. Editrix are an acclaimed noise-rock trio with Steve Cameron and Josh Daniel accompanying Eisenberg.
👀 Re-Release alert for The Folk Implosion: 1997's Dare to Be Surprised @joyfulnoiserecs.bsky.social - arriving March 21st on white vinyl!
PRE-ORDER: 'Dare to Be Surprised' by The Folk Implosion
Reissue of the third album from Lou Barlow and John Davis' lo-fi indie slacker rock group.

This is great because the rich angsty teen boy on moon vacation will still be able to keep his eyes glued to that damn phone
Pre-order here: thefolkimplosion.lnk.to/daretobesurp...
Dare to Be Surprised will be available 3/21 on standard edition white vinyl. It'll also be available in VIP Edition "Citrus Wedge" vinyl, which includes a flexi disc live performance of "That's the Trick" and "Checking In" from the era.
Dare to Be Surprised represents a contrasting yet natural progression of the band's nascent style. Through its newly clarified sound - a bright left turn from the lo-fi Take a Look Inside - it becomes clear that this record is the occasion of an important band finding its aural footing.
🐇 Surprise! 🐇
We are excited to announce the re-release of a special album, The Folk Implosion's 1997 sophomore record Dare to Be Surprised - available 3/21.

It was also one of the last albums recorded by the late great Steve Albini. Albini's legendary recordist skills shine through wonderfully on the album - leaving in little nudges and foot tap sounds in addition to the pedal steel and vocals. It just adds to the surreality of the music.
Out now! We are excited to release "Bull Market on Corn" by New Orthodox today.
The album is out now everywhere. 2 vinyl variants and a cassette. You can listen or order a physical copy here: neworthodox.lnk.to/bullmarketon...

I said it the other day, but this is pure experimental pedal steel and vocals - there's nothing quite like it, and we're really excited to be the ones to put out this debut album.

New Orthodox is on the road in April! The live show is CRUCIAL with this artist - freaked out vocals + pedal steel. Tickets are on sale soon but here are the dates. Mark your calendars.
