S3 of #TheTripods was axed in order to un-cancel Doctor Who in 85, an 18 month 'hiatus' was never the plan. DW was gone. Finito. Budget reallocated to EastEnders. But controversy erupts and must be made to go away. So a run of 25min eps of SciFi with OB for autumn Saturdays in 86 were reassigned.

Oh it definitely is! My favourite Supergrass album. Bought this on my final visit to Sheffield in the 90s while my friends were still at Uni after I'd finished. Brings back memories of a sunny, happy week!

I really like this episode too, always have. Yes, some of the portrayals might be stereotyped and outdated but the script has things to say and does it will.
Jonathan Wright Miller was so good for the show and it's a real shame he only does the two episodes. He had real style.
