The US fully capitulated to Iran and agreed to a '2-week ceasefire'. Iran imposed a $2M toll per ship transiting the Strait of Hormuz, with an undisclosed amount going to Oman. 138 ships pass through the Strait daily, this would generate $276M per day; roughly $3.86 billion over a two-week period.

“My own belief is this: No true American, no American worthy of the name, would want deliberately to exclude any other American from the full opportunity to enjoy every privilege and every right guaranteed to us by the Constitution.”

Words Are Weapons — And Trump Has No Trigger Discipline Twitter vomits make the enemy less scared

Day 1: 'We've already won.' Day 8: 'Unconditional surrender.' Day 30: 'Actually, we've had regime change.' Meanwhile, Iran says they'll decide when it ends. Words are weapons — and Trump has no trigger discipline.

Powell's attendance at the Geneva talks, as well as at a previous set of meetings earlier in the month in the Swiss city, helps in part to explain the UK government's reluctance to back the US attack on Iran, a reluctance that has put the UK-US relationship under unprecedented strain.
The UK saw no compelling evidence of an imminent threat of an Iranian missile attack on Europe, or of Iran securing a nuclear weapon. This is the first time it has become clear that Britain was so closely involved in the talks, and so had good reason to decide whether diplomatic options had been exhausted and a US attack was necessary.
Instead the UK regarded the attack as unlawful and premature since Powell believed the path remained open to a negotiated solution to the long-running issue of how Iran could reassure the US that it was not seeking a nuclear weapon.

Accounts differ on whether Kushner left the talks giving the impression Trump would welcome what had been agreed, or that the US negotiators knew it would take something massive to persuade Trump that war was not the best option.
One diplomat with knowledge of the talks said: "We regarded Witkoff and Kushner as Israeli assets that dragged a president into a war he wants to get out of."
The Guardian's report that Powell was in the room during the talks was cited in parliament on Tuesday by Liz Saville Roberts, an MP for the Welsh nationalist Plaid Cymru party, during an update by Britain's foreign secretary, Yvette Cooper.
"It appears diplomatic options were still viable and there was no evidence of an imminent missile threat to Europe or of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon," Saville Roberts told Cooper.

UK national security adviser Jonathan Powell attended final talks between US and Iran, believed deal was within reach, days later Trump and Israel surprised attacked.

The Ayatollah was old, and probably had a succession plan. The difference is that US has fast tracked the process, and created a new breed of angry people. For something that nature would have managed.
How the successor will be, is anyone’s guess.

Exactly. Reminds me of the movie American President when the president calls a flower shop and the attendant drops the call as fake. In this case, anything is very possible. Very.

Whatever is in the Epstein Files is so explosive that the leaders of the Department of Justice are openly breaking the law every day to keep us from seeing it. (Just a reminder amongst all the other stuff flying around.)

AOC: "It is unconscionable that what we are debating right now is legislation that will give 8 senators over $1 million a piece & we're robbing people of their food assistance & healthcare to pay for it. How can we vote to enrich ourselves by stealing from the American people?"

I have absolutely no pity nor sympathy for Mitch McConnell, he’s one of the most evil corrupt beings on the planet who destroyed our Supreme Court and led this country to the disastrous train wreck we are in today.
