Call me old fashioned, but I'm not sure I want AI in charge of anything that can cause house fires

It's one model. It puts all the risk on you, though. Maybe it would be better to share the risk somehow.
It always sounded to me like "Look! A studio"
You should choose this moment to start calling it Looker Studio
The Achievements section of a Google Search Console property, showing the message: "We're gathering data, please check back in about 22 days"
Hey Search Console, slow down, you're putting the rest of us to shame
Fowl play!
That is such a good point! Maybe books or TV shows would be a better comparison? You could spend dozens of hours on one series in either medium
I for one hope he makes a full recovery
I paste a link into a Jira ticket - it turns it into a big 'smart link' box and asks me if I want to connect to Google. I click on it in an attempt to disable this - Jira then asks me if I want to use Rovo. No, Jira! I just want to paste a flipping link! 'Helpful' tools are the bane of my existence
It always fascinates me that chef and chief are cognates. We got 'chief' from French first, and then hundreds of years later got 'chef' from the same source - this time meaning a specific type of chief, the chief of the kitchen. So we've borrowed the same word twice
He gets first dibs on the pineapple pizza. That's what you might call tropical authority
The Cheesecake Factory is a real chain of restaurants? My mind is blown! I thought it was just something made up for the Big Bang Theory
Considering becoming a Minister of Religion in order to get an exemption from Making Tax Digital
Perhaps it's a soaredfish
'Angers' (plural) makes me think that it is not one-sided. To put it another way: I take 'angers of that house' to mean conflict between the two, rather than anger on the father's side. After all, if he feared his father, would he speak to him indifferently?
We grate in veg - carrots, celery etc. Never thought of white beans
Cry haddock and let slip the dogs of war!
Partial list of default channels in GA4, with organic social, organic video, and organic search circled
Hmm, just checked one of my clients' properties and they're all separate there
Hands up, I misunderstood how modeling works in #GA4. I thought event data got modeled but that's not the case. "Enabling modeling will make unconsented events reportable, however these events will remain unaffected by modeling." It's just metrics like users, sessions, and new users that get modeled
That's a good way to look at it!
Oh for sure! I thought Shivering Isles was a much more creative interpretation of Oblivion
I thought the setting had to be generic western fantasy in order to make the Oblivion gates/realm more shocking. If the setting was more weird or alien (like Morrowind was), you wouldn't have had that contrast
One of the oddities of freelancing is that the more work you do, the more new work you get coming in. I guess it's the opposite phenomenon to "out of sight, out of mind". But the quickest way to end up with too much work is to try to clear your workload #freelancing
Totally agree. You also don't know other people's circumstances. I've reduced my pace and distance because of sciatica (not serious - I'm OK!), but someone looking from the outside would never be able to tell that
When it comes to making life changes, I believe that only tiny changes and humongous changes are effective. Tiny changes are easy to maintain, whereas humongous changes are impossible to undo. Middle-sized changes are both difficult to maintain and possible to undo, so they never stick.
Very few people remember Dr Bertram Barn - I worry for his legacy if we rename the Barn owl
Watching MasterChef Junior (USA) with my daughter - we're shocked that the winner takes home $100K! I can't think of a single TV competition in the UK that has a cash prize for kids. Even the adult UK MasterChef doesn't have a cash prize - the career opportunities are presumably reward enough
I agree, Matt, and I have conflicting opinions about charity in general for similar reasons. Take heart from the founding of the NHS - Bevan was inspired by, and followed the model of, a small medical aid society from his home town of Tredegar. Food banks may yet also inspire systemic change.
Iran to my computer to check it out
I'm sorry about your friend.
This to me is a surprising perspective, because we tend to think of UK weather as especially benign. Very little in the way of earthquakes, hurricanes, or extremes of hot and cold that might kill you outright. But I am probably oblivious to the misery of it.
