This is why assigning sex at birth shouldn’t be set in stone. Sometimes it’s wrong & people should be able to correct it easily if they were wrongly assigned their sex at birth & not have to violate their privacy to do so. Nobody is trying to “change sex,” they were assigned the wrong sex at birth.

If genitalia is ambiguous they decide AT BIRTH what that baby will be and do the surgery right then to make them fit one of 2 boxes instead of simply letting them develop and deciding on their own who they are and if they want any medical intervention. They often choose wrong.
