5 is right out. Once the number 3, being the 3rd number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioche towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it."

And the Lord spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to 3, no more, no less. 3 shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be 3. 4 shalt thou not count, neither count thou 2, excepting that thou then proceed to 3...

I read through this whole thing and it's mostly teachers using AI to "save time" with class prep and finding creative ways for instruction. Nothing that meaningfully improves students' outcomes.

BUT they can use AI to revise mean or jargony emails to parents lol so that's good I guess

On this Trans Day of Visibility, my heart breaks anew on thinking of the years I've missed with my aunt, who was murdered 5 years before I immigrated to the US in 1990. She was a kind and beautiful person, beloved. And today's SCOTUS decision on conversion therapy is a disgrace to her memory.

Sinking $$$ into a club or travel team to be scouted is not rooted in reality. Colleges recruit from school teams, not club or travel teams. If the player isn't affiliated with a HS, they're not eligible for scholarships!!

I especially love how late 18c-early 19c folks thought male ob-gyns were perverts for getting into that business in the first place

I was home alone last night for a few hours and spent a significant amount of time singing (badly and loudly) all of Little Shop of Horrors while I watered the 1000 plants in my house. Then I cried through all of Hamnet.

Glorious Saturday night, highly recommend

Race was a construct carefully calibrated during chattel enslavement and solidified in the 19th century in the age of abolition (paradoxical, but read about it!). Race has not always been a given.

I had to keep reading because the kids got so upset, understandably

BLM Announces Plan to Fell Oregon's Last Great Forests There's a kind of forest in western Oregon that you feel before you understand. The BLM just gave the timber industry permission to tear it all down.

Time sensitive: this is the last day to submit comments opposing the Bureau of Land Management's clearcutting of Oregon's ancient forests. This is a tool that educates you on just how diabolical it is, and it helps you submit your comment. morethanjustparks.com/oregon-old-g...

The ways in which the current political climate has muzzled our ability to teach meaningfully cannot be overestimated. We suffer, our students suffer, but at least this one lady doesn't have to say her pronouns anymore. Excellent tradeoff.

Professors Are Changing What They Teach, Even Far From Trumpโ€™s Gaze

I finally read the piece on faculty censorship and most profs say that they are fearful of political reprisal, deportation, and their students' safety and then there's one conservative instructor who's happy not to say "menstruating persons" anymore
