Brooklyn's Grand Army Plaza is getting a grand redesign that puts pedestrians and cyclists first. youtube.com/shorts/fpMkN...
The 137-year-old wooden bridge over the Gowanus Canal has been closed for repairs since 2021.
And now that the Carroll Street Bridge restoration is nearly complete, there's a rare opportunity to pedestrianize the historic landmark in a rapidly-changing community. youtube.com/shorts/_hN6a...
fridge full of quart containers of charoset
tomorrow is my favorite night of the year: the tenth annual seder that my friends (and now me as well!) host for ~120 people
hoping that the 8 quart containers + tupperware of charoset i made is enough

"Luddites" is a good term for those who oppose AI because the Luddites weren't against *all* technology, just forms of technology that they knew would pay workers less and turn out a shittier product

New high score of *22* vehicles illegally double-parked in the bike lane on Bedford Avenue on Tuesday evening (6pm).

The person delivering your Grubhub order may not have actually been working for Grubhub.
Streetsblog found that Grubhub subcontracted to another app called Relay to skirt paying NYC's delivery minimum wage to those workers.

I took a Citibike on Friday and can personally confirm that this dumpster pushed me out into rush hour traffic on Bedford
got a text from my sister — who works at a public school in north brooklyn and recently moved from LI to be closer to work — asking me to show her the citi bike ropes bc she couldn’t get on a packed G shuttle
thought she’d never consider biking, but it’s often the only option so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
container for trash in the unprotected bike lane at the corner of willoughby and bedford. there’s a gas station in the background and the road is empty otherwise
half of the G is down this morning, meaning that commuters can either take the shuttle bus, or ride a bike to north brooklyn up an unprotected, dangerous Bedford Avenue
here’s a DSNY bin in the unprotected bike lane at Willoughby
🙃
thank you!

unprotected bike lane with cars double parked in it. plus gridlocked traffic lanes
spotted *SEVEN* cars/trucks parked in the UN-protected bedford avenue bike lane between willoughby and myrtle. the gridlock traffic was backed up all the way to flushing/myrtle and east to marcy/myrtle
seems like protected bike lanes don't cause traffic — double parking does
🤔
The people who get the maddest about automated traffic enforcement are the ones who have benefited from this in the past and want to benefit from it in the future. What did you think the PBA stickers they send you to put in your window for your donation were supposed to do?

“I care less about the personal attacks on me and ‘The Left’ than I do about an admission that the NYPD has let ‘Back the Blue’ bumper stickers dictate who gets held accountable for making the streets more dangerous,” she said. “I look forward to being less ‘annoying’ when shock jocks and retired cops with CCRB records are done getting mad about questions of responsibility and fairness.”

THE WAR ON CYCLISTS IS ZOH-VER www.youtube.com/shorts/NZqL3...
Starting March 27, NYPD will start treating cyclists the same as drivers by stopping the Adams-era practice of writing criminal summonses to cyclists for minor traffic offenses.
