We Gen X and Millennial kids grew up with #LittleHouseOnthePrairie, but there is A LOT more to it than Michael Landon being a good TV dad. I dig into the history to explain why the #Netflix reboot has a chance to tell an important and relevant story.

Arguably the most emotional episode of #DaredevilBornAgain proved that the #MCU series would have been worse off if it hadn't connected to the original #Daredevil series.

Like I said to the other person who replied. HIs Twitter guy is probably some cousin or dead friend's son who can't keep a job that Shatner promised to keep employed. (This hypothetical fuckup is 63 years old and Bill still calls him "Kid.)

2 days ago 0 0 0 0

He's 95 and had like 5 jobs. I'd be shocked if he even understood what Twitter was.

Though to admit my personal bias: I think we all should give less of a shit about what people tweet and things celebrities say that unrelated to the thing that makes them celebrities.

2 days ago 1 0 1 0

Again, I have no Earthly idea what Shatner does when he isn't working. But I do know the last four five interviews I've seen him do all he talks about are the perils of climate change and that we need to save the planet. I bring this up because we need to save the planet. And he's 95.

2 days ago 2 0 0 0

I mean, maybe he does? It might he a bunch of different people. Or it might be some 65 year old Shatner calls "kid" who has no discernible skills but is someone that he loves or feels responsible for. Though, if I had to pick one with a phaser to my head? I don't think he gives a shit about Twitter.

@earlgreymemes.club To your point though: Whoever it is ain't doing Bill ANY favors.

The only one I can remember off the top of my head is Brent Spiner on Michael Rosenbaum's podcast, I think. And there was another TNG-era Star Trek dude who had a similar story.

2 days ago 1 0 0 0

Wait, are people still out here thinking that William Shatner is the one who writes his social media posts? I am pretty sure it's been like quadruple confirmed he doesn't by celebrities the account beefed with and then apologized to him in person and he was like "What are you talking about?"

A new set photo from #DaredevilBornAgain Season 3 reveals the return of #TheDefenders, and it shows the #MCU strategy for TV is the one they've been having the most success with on the big screen. I explain at the link.

TNG Cast from Picard s3 on the enterprise bridge.

If #Paramount or #SkyDance is trying to end #StarTrek production to save money, they let a producer/showrunner who could fix that problem for them slip right through their fingers. I explain what I mean here:

So, there have been a lot of arguments over the past six decades about #StarTrek continuity and canon. But what if we've been looking at the timeline all wrong? I make a case here that the "true" chronological order solves most of those problems.

Back after my computer tried dying on me. So a little late sharing this list of the best "family movie" in each year of the 1980s. The source? I saw each of these movies in the theater with my mom! Leave your picks in the comments!

Unfortunately, the idea didn't pass muster for work. But I'll probably just write it up anyway for my person site since there'll be at least one reader, haha.

Oh wow, I hope this means I get to keep reviewing books for my beloved hometown rag. (Because as important as news is, and it IS important, the paper's role in highlighting the arts for the folks in this city is equally vital...in my somewhat biased opinion.)

4 days ago 3 0 0 0

Again: for any big liberal donor who wants to funnel millions into fixing this country's politics, the ROI on buying any struggling paper and simply tasking it with doing real reporting on local news is vastly higher than the same $$ given to some group that does mass ad buys every election year.

Yup. How I'm going to be until next Tuesday.

Totally. This episode alone is proof-positive that had they gone with a fresh start it would have been a mistake. And I feel the same way about how it connects to the original. (Also seeing a lot of people online here saying the same thing.) I really hope I can write about this tomorrow for work.

I had the exact same thought after this one! The comparison to his father is inevitable, and I think tonight's performance shows there are some interesting similarities and very clear differences. Hoping to write about this subject tomorrow.

Understated reaction, tbh

Truly. Especially that last scene, when he was talking to you-know-who. What he did with his voice there? Just incredible. Also, Arty Froushan did some really great, really subtle things with his flashback scene, too. They should just heave Emmys at all of them for this one.

Yeah, there was definitely de-aging/deepfake stuff at play there. Some of those first Vanessa close-ups were right up on the cusp of that uncanny valley. I also think they had Elden Henson padded up.

Also, is it just me or does the NASA livestream announcer sound like Brent Spiner/Data from Star Trek: TNG?

1 week ago 1 0 0 0

#ArtemisII is a sign of the amazing things humanity can do when we're not trying to demean/destroy each other. Even the YouTube livestream chat is positive, lacking the racism/shittiness typical of these events. Also people are posting "I WAS HERE!" which I find oddly touching.

Resharing this critique of #Lost and how it handled the Kate Austen story. She is one of my favorite characters, but the writers chickened out of making her the kind of truly complex character she had the potential to be.

Lucas Barton in a jack and holding up the power glove (It's so BAD) in front of a Tv screen from the WIzard 1989

I got to look back at a film turning 35 years old this year that I enjoyed but is truly a 1980s fever dream. Sure, #TheWizard was a Nintendo commercial reskinned as a movie, but it was surprisingly prescient about today's #VideoGame industry "Hype Cycle."
