There was a speedmapping jam yesterday with tight restrictions of 96 brushes, 30 monsters in 30 hours so why not?

Six years ago I started assembling a #Quake episode. I dug it out of a old hard drive last night and got it all setup to work. Some areas are blockouts and some are closer to complete. Maybe I can finish it up.

I recall loading screen calling every asset in the game. I asked the lead programmer why it didn't just load what was in the level. He fixed it and load times were dramatically improved.
At the time I was doing FX editing fractions in notepad. Dev time of seconds waiting 5+ minutes loading.

Lava Cave Archway - Unreal Engine 5, Chris Holden I created all meshes created in 3ds Max, textures in Substance Designer and materials in Unreal Engine 5. Particles FX are broken down and modified UE starter content fire particle.
