There was a speedmapping jam yesterday with tight restrictions of 96 brushes, 30 monsters in 30 hours so why not?

Six years ago I started assembling a #Quake episode. I dug it out of a old hard drive last night and got it all setup to work. Some areas are blockouts and some are closer to complete. Maybe I can finish it up.

I recall loading screen calling every asset in the game. I asked the lead programmer why it didn't just load what was in the level. He fixed it and load times were dramatically improved.
At the time I was doing FX editing fractions in notepad. Dev time of seconds waiting 5+ minutes loading.
Using the #Scythe plugin by @kronok.bsky.social for #UnrealEngine, I modeled this sci-fi hall in two evenings. I would rebuild most of it with what I learned, but it was fun to make. #screenshotsaturday
