While it was a kinda ok revenge movie I don't understand people who say it is one of the greatest bond movies. He loses his license to kill and goes vigilante like Chuck Norris in Delta Force 2. Even the non canon Sean Connery movie felt more bond.

Wild that Altman is being sued by his sister for repeated sexual abuse and that doesn’t come up in basically every conversation about him. I get that it’s alleged but if that shit was happening to someone else I feel like that would come up, particularly if that person had a history of lying a lot.

I don't know how to explain to the people who pop up when creatives complain about "AI" to say there are legit uses for it just how much they sound like someone saying "Well actually fire is used to make bread" when people are talking about an organized arson ring burning down their fucking houses

Oh, I could scream about this for HOURS.

But suffice to say: This is what happens when large studios don't want to fund original projects, anymore.

They make Scooby-Doo for the 16th time, and the hot young talents goes off, runs a Kickstarter/gets backed by Glitch, and succeeds without them.

Wikipedia snippet:

On March 6, 2026, Lycos announced that their services, specifically Angelfire and Tripod, were experiencing temporary outages in a note on their frontpage.[6] Later that day, the message was updated to say "To our users of Angelfire and Tripod. We apologize for the service interruptions. Unfortunately we will be shutting down in the next 30 days. Please move your hosting to another host as soon as possible."[7] The message was removed from the homepage shortly after, without further official statement from the company.[8]

Hey if you still have an Angelfire or Tripod site, or if you like one, now is the time to back it up, like, urgently

Neat. I will have to try this in a small project if it fits my use case. Thanks 😊

What Color Is That? No seriously, what color is that? I genuinely cannot tell. Aim your camera at a color — get its name, details, matches, plus colorblind palettes and simulation. Save colors with personal labels.

Someone asked for an app to point your camera at a color and find matches. Cool. Here.

BUT ALSO: I'm colorblind and never thought to make this for myself! Save colors ("new paint," "mom's fave"), get colorblind-friendly complements, simulate what you see vs. what others see. Legit using this daily.

This got cut for length, but one of the reasons Veatch uses a few AI-generated clips (which are all clearly labeled) was to test the claims that generative AI programs like Sora can help filmmakers make more money through better deals with studios. Turns out, it's not that simple

I personally think VO can add a lot to certain types of games but it's also a lot of work to do it right. There are so many ways to approach it if budget and time is a concern. From short vocal emotes, grunts, dialogue text sound effects and effects for emphasis, or partial VO for certain scenes.

State-Based Scripting in UNCHARTED: DRAKE'S FORTUNE and UNCHARTED 2: AMONG THIEVES

How do you serialize this like with save files, states or over the network?
The ugly fsm with can be replaced with a action list or a behavior tree if you like the sequential look. In this naughty dog talk they added states and sync points to the lists www.gdcvault.com/play/1730/St...

Remember when the metaverse was sold to higher ed as an essential part of the future of learning (especially online)? And how colleges and universities should go all-in on the metaverse so they could be "pioneers" of this new technology? There's a lesson here for those who choose to learn it.

This is described as an “attack” (and the page is pretty much an ad). But mostly it baffles me that a software maintainer would merge code of that sorts without knowing what it does. It says a lot about the state of software quality. www.aikido.dev/blog/glasswo...

Yeah, op is probably talking about llm/ml (or is overly restrictive in their choice of computer games 😂)

How AI is Actually Used in the Video Games Industry | AI 101 YouTube video by AI and Games

But it technically is ai, just not a llm or machine learning that has tainted the meaning of the word. A pacman ghost that randomly selects a direction is still an ai, regardless of current buzzwords.
Ai and games has a great video on various ai in gamedev

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

Today marks the 42nd anniversary of the release of Hayao Miyazaki's Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, based on his own manga.

A fabulous environmental fable that led to the creation of Ghibli Studios.

having written about how banning web scrapers from a code forge i host made it usable again and saved ~60€/y in power bill, let me tell you:

you cannot fathom the offloaded cost of GenAI on small web hosts. it is a veritable distributed denial of service to the entire web. Every web admin sees it.
